Does Camzyos shrink/narrow your urethra?
I take flomax, but not for anything related to prostate issues. I was told before starting Camzyos for HOCM that Camzyos may reduce the efficacy of certain medications, including flomax. They were right. Almost immediately after starting Camzyos, urinating became less easy, as if the circumference of my urethra had become smaller. I will find out the hard way--on Tuesday, I am having a cystoscopy (google it--be prepared to wince at what you read!). I have to have them regularly due to issues with penile cancer. If the urologic oncologist has a more difficult time getting the scope in, I'm in for a painful cystoscopy. Ugh. If anyone has had more difficulty urinating upon beginning Camzyos, please respond. Thanks.

Husband has similar issue. About 4 months of taking Camzios he’s had prostate issues. His doctor is now sending him as well to have cystoscopy done. His PSA is only a 3.. we are almost certain it’s the Camzios. Sorry you are going through this.
I had the cystoscopy. I had a lot of fluids in the hours before it because I wanted to be able to pee in the cup immediately before the cystoscopy to test urine for cancer cells as I have done before. Then a very new urologist did cystoscopy about 15 minutes later. He noticed urine in my bladder and immediately concluded I need part of my prostate removed because he assumed it was enlarged because he thought my bladder had not fully emptied when I urinated before cystoscopy. He did not consider the amount of fluids I had had. He did not do a digital rectal exam or check my PSA. He did not order an MRI of my prostate to see if it was enlarged. He just told me to go talk to different prostate surgeons who do these procedures differently and gave me their numbers. I am skeptical that my prostate is enlarged and think urine flow issues are due to the Camzyos and that my bladder was filling because I had so much fluid, not because my prostate prevented emptying because it is enlarged. Imagine that I follow his advice without any diagnostics on whether my prostate is enlarged and someone does prostate surgery on me and the condition remains anyway! Then I would have had prostate surgery for nothing. I scheduled another appointment with the young new urologist for this week to discuss...
Have you thought about getting a second opinion? You might consider that. Just a thought.
