Since many bluetooth devices have setting you can change. I would check that out. Like my Shokz bone conductive headset, I can adjust the levels of bass, treble, and mid-range. Plus they have a few presets that might work. Good luck in your search!!!
I have autophony and can't tolerate any background sounds. Can't find help though doctors are trying different things. I have looked for that kind of device to use for church and SS. Stores say the do not make them any more. One came with my husbands hearing aid but worked only with them. Hearing aids cause very stressful background sounds. I keep looking. Maybe someone will respond to your request. I pray so.

@crossette, since you're an electrical engineer. and you know what your talking about and you know what you want. why don't you build them yourself? just find a computer designer to help you out. simple? (NO). (YES). (MAYBE). 🤷♂️🤷♂️.
