Portable Oxygen Machines

I'm currently using Inogen One G5 but don't feel all the comfortable with it. Does anyone use one that they really like? If so, please share.

I do read my reports and ask a lot of questions. I've never seen these terms in my reports. Very concerning! I like my pulmonologist but sounds like I need to find a new one. Advocating is exhausting and time-consuming but if I don't, who will? My daughter is a big help so time for some research - and more questioning. Thank you for your response.

It may be work, but it is time well invested. How could they diagnose you with COPD and not do a regular pulmonary function test? My local testing was messed up which I discovered two years later when I understood the terminology and I formally requested that they correct it. Also they gave me an overnight oximeter test and never put out the full report. So I am missing an important base line for tracking. One needs to call them on such practices. You have a right to the results.

I finally just got mine. I'm so happy to have it. I recently was stuck waiting for a wheelchair van and I ran out of oxygen. Good thing I was at my Doctors office. I'm not sure what you mean?

What kind did you get and what are the options that you like about it. I am actively seeking one as the one that I have now is too heavy.... it's an Inogen 5. Looking at the Rove 4 or 6.
Thank you

It says Rythm Healthcare. It's what my Insurance provided through a local
Oxygen Company in Richmond. It's heavier than what I hoped for but most of
the time I'm using it when I'm in my wheelchair anyway. I am traveling next
month and it's one of the reasons I need it. It has 4 hour battery life but
I'll be on Amtrak where I can plug it in.

Inogen One G5 is pretty much the SAME as Rove 6. If you get a lighter machine, try it out with your oximeter to be sure it keeps you saturated. If you get a machine that’s lighter but doesn’t keep you saturated (at or above 90%, preferably with a bit extra in case of a flare up or extra exertion), its not going to help keep you as healthy as one that will keep you properly saturated.

If it’s too heavy, get a small luggage cart and use that to wheel around your POC. I got a nice backpack that I wear on my chest to carry my Inogen One G5. In this manner, it doesn’t injury my shoulder (which happens when I have all the weight on just one shoulder). It’s actually not bad carried in a good backpack like the one I got from O2Totes. (Listed on Amazon and their own site o2totes.com.) So many people want the lightest possible POC and then are surprised that it doesn’t adequately meet their needs and keep them properly saturated at or above 90% all the time. The G5 provides much more O2 than the G4; the heavier weight is needed for the compressor and bigger sieve beds.

I have the G5 but am thinking about getting the Rove6. It sounds like it's somewhat better than the G5. But not really lighter in weight. Is it worth the money?

The Rove 6 and the Inogen 5 are the same from what I was told by sales people. I have the Rove 6 and just started using the Inogen wheeled cart for it. I was using the O2 backpack but needed to give my shoulders a break due to osteoarthritis.

where did you find the rolling cart for the Inogen G5? Do you have a link for it? I'm trying to find one, but I'm not sure. Which one would be best.

I purchased the Inogen cart: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0859RVJ96?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1
It is rather expensive for what it is but I really like how light weight and easy it is to use. It also secures the unit so well I do not worry about it.

It goes to level 6 vs 5 with the older model so that is a plus and it uses the same battery so you don’t need to buy those. They have specials on them at I think Main Street supply, call them I think they will deal
