What makes us happy. And you?

We love going to Costco. Dan sits in the food court and has his hot dog and soda while I do the shopping. He waits for me there. I then show him the receipt and we laugh about what sometimes is surely the world's most expensive hot dog! What makes you happy?

Good question! It's amazing how small moments can take on special meaning.

My wife and I will sometimes have a nice meal at home (nothing spectacular; we're hardly gourmets), share a bottle of decent wine, and chat for an hour or so, just the two of us.

I will often get sentimental, especially when I think how much I almost lost when I had the stroke. But it makes me appreciate how lucky I am to be sitting across the table from my best friend, the love of my life, and the woman of my dreams.

It's fun to be alive and have moments like that.

Grocery shopping makes me happy, too. Not ordering online, but walking through and enjoying the market place experience. It is grounding somehow.

Simple things:
We walk together to a nearby coffee shop to share a treat.
On Wednesday our transport is free for seniors . We take a bus to a different part of the city for coffee or lunch.
We drive to a nature area to walk.
In nice weather we pick up takeout and picnic in a city park.

Where I used to live I would bicycle an hour to a nature reserve beach on the ocean. I would be so relaxed by the time I got there and rested on the beach marveling at the vast ocean. Then I would walk on the beach and through the sand dunes and enjoy the pristine nature all around. Then bicycle home, have a nice dinner and sleep really well. To me that's happiness.

I have always loved it, too. Very good observation, as I didn't realize until you said it, but I do find it grounding.

Great idea to take a free bus to a different part of the city and go out for coffee or lunch.

We just took a 25 day road trip. My husband did great and we really enjoyed our different places. I drove the whole way.
Now we are home and I’m already feeling stressed. We are going to take a field trip every week. I might start doing art with him. And he loves going to the store with me. Loves going out to eat too.
Have to find our happy space and time together.
Thank you all

I relax the most when I'm taking our puppy for a walk in the woods. I also enjoy going to the gym with my wife, sharing a cup of coffee at Dunkin Donuts.

I would say laughing and talking about year's ago . Going for a ride in the car, my spouse has limited tolerance to walking and sometimes he apologizes. I am concerned of course. We do go out to eat at his favorite restaurant. He like when he gets his sweet potatoes fries. He is clear headed most of the time. I have known him since high school. He walked into the classroom and sat near me . I was taken and so was he. We have been married over 50 years. Our last trip was on our 50th Anniversary. Little did I know he would be unable to celebrate our anniversary the same since. He has been through so much and honestly he does not deserve it. Parkinsons is an awful condition. He hugged and kissed me good night..everyday that goes by I wonder will he be here in the morning. 💞🫂
