Entyvio to begin

Posted by jkelble @jkelble, Apr 6, 2025

Hi, I had what I suspect is a flare up some 5 years ago and after a few colonoscopies, told I have inflammation from Crohns. Now I have been taking Mesalamine for a few years. What I don't understand is, I really have none of the usual symptoms other people are afflicted with like diarrhea, pain, or other things. I am starting entyvio as no inflammation is good inflammation. Not sure how I am to notice I am feeling better if I don't have usual symptoms?

i think a ultra scan will show if inflammation is going down or not . i had a 30cm section that was inflamed after ,entyvio fusions settled it right down . no need for surgery. Probiotics are very good too . all the best !

I don't have those symptoms from Crohn's either. I have constipation and inflammation in my lower bowel. I took first infusion of entivio and have felt nauseas since. Going to ask my doctor if this is normal.

I have microscopic colitis that is turning into ulcerative colitis. Just started Entivio this week and the fatigue is bad. How long does the fatigue last after Entivio?

@kaybechtel

I haven't been on Entivio, but it took several weeks for me to start feeling better when I started Humira. Part of that was I was in an active state of disease and recovering from an abdominal abscess, and all of that contributed to feeling tired.

If the fatigue persists it would be something to bring up with your medical team, do you have a follow-up visit scheduled or can you message them?

I'm getting ready to start Entyvio Infusions, due to refractory budesonide-resistant Collagenous Colitis. Has anyone else been on these infusions? Is there anything I need to look out for?

@szelisk - I moved your post here to this existing discussion about vedolizumab (Entyvio) so you could chat with others who've also had experience with this:

Fellow members such as @susanf8 @aliceconner @kaybechtel and others may have input about these infusions for you and anything you need to look out for.

How are you feeling as you approach getting the vedolizumab (Entyvio), szelisk?
