I am looking for an exercise video to do.

Hi, I am a senior woman and am looking for an exercise video that I can safely do. I have had both knees and hips replaced abut I want to stay as fit and active as possible. What I am looking for is the actual name of the video. I hope someone has some advice for me. Thanks.😊

Does she have any free videos or do you have to buy them?

Wish I had a specific exercise video to recommend. Few questions to help people recommend a video.
Do you plan on playing on DVD or from you computer / phone using YouTube or something similar?
Are you looking for aerobic workout or something like yoga or stretching?

I am eager to see what people recommend. Now that weather is starting to warm up in MN, I usually get out and walk.

Mayo has some simple exercises under there Healthy Living section:

I haven't read all the previous answers so someone else may have already mentioned these. I like Jessica Valant, who is a PT. I've never seen anyone else on this forum mention her, but I really like her videos. They are not all osteoporosis-specific but many are. I also like Girl with the Pilates Mat who also has many videos geared toward osteoporosis. I've also found many good ones for osteoporosis on Silver Sneakers.

Thank you for responding. As I said, I have had both knees and both hips replaced and so I am am not sure what exercises are safe and also beneficial for me. 🙂

You should seek out physical therapy for a home exercise program that will fit your needs and implants. Do not trust a video that may or may not be helpful. I depend on my PT very much. They are very smart people.

Your suggestion makes sense, however I don’t have a physical therapist.

I have veiwed many sites and excercise programs for bones. I feel that PT Margaret Martins Melio Guide program is great - it is based on saftey and years of working with our population ( old, elderly as well as young strong and premensopaual) Her program offers various levels but her 'basics' are well worth reveiwing for many of us assume we know things but can find that indeed they are risky for our bone health. She has both a book as well as practice videos. There is a 8 day sample practice to try if you want to see how she works. SHe also offers webinares on medications if you need more support. Personally she is great and kind and supportive person and if you shoose to work with her indiviualy ( via on line connection) you will find her to be wonderful . My best to you and your health.
