Retrograde Cricopharyngeus Dysfunction (R-CPD/No Burp Syndrome)
Seeking information on who at Mayo could help diagnose and treat Retrograde Cricopharyngeus Dysfunction (R-CPD/No Burp Syndrome)? Any others on here experience this? From what I have researched, it is rare.

I’m also wondering! I believe I may have this!

2 ReactionsYes, I believe I have this too. I’m starting to see more people bringing it up on social media.
My daughter also has this. She sees Mayo for her primary care. GI told us that R-CPD is not something that exists, and there’s no way she can’t burp. Frustrating, to say the least.

1 ReactionSo I know it’s been a while since you posted this,…I’m sorry, but you need to see a new GI. My daughter was tested for and diagnosed with it! By a GI doc from CHOP.
I just wanted to leave a comment to mention that Dr Amy Rutt at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville FL, and Dr Semirra Bayan at Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN, are both now known to treat the condition. There are other specialists outside of Mayo Clinic, but these are the ones I know from within this particular group.
As for the other comment discussion regarding GI specialists; R-CPD is considered to be an ENT condition, so there are very few GI specialists who treat R-CPD.
