Survey: nebulizers and compressor systems speed, etc.

Posted by pacathy @pacathy, Dec 6, 2024

A recent p.m. from another member about my nebulizer compressor recommendation, esp speed. I am very new to nebbing (18 months) compared to others and think a survey might be beneficial to compare our common uses-albuterol and NS.

1. Which compressor and nebulizer brand (mouth piece) do you use?

2. How long does it take you to nebulize albuterol?

3. How long does it take you to nebulize normal saline? Do you use 4ml (CVS or other) or 5ml (Amazon or other).

4. Misc pros or cons of your neb or your compressor?

@beejenigma

Medicare has NEVER covered my 7% saline! How in the world can this be?

Some Medicare advantage plans do cover it. However, I don’t have an Advantage plan and was just wrong. I checked with CVS and Medicare didn’t pay mine. My great secondary covers most of my meds. It’s a set, cheap co-pay for generic or brand meds. The exception is Albuterol. It surprised me with it’s large copay because it’s considered home medical and has to be billed to Medicare. I figured NS was the same despite occasionally reading that it didn’t cover.

Sorry for confusing you. Btw, the tech said CVS has their own discount program and had used that for mine. I’ve never heard of or seen info on that. Since I know now the entire amount is out of pocket, I mught compare prices.

They didn't have a no saline warning. I'm talking about many of the others I have looked at since my last Innospire died.

I have been researching since my last Phillips died and it seems nothing has the power! I bought a Drive power neb ultra a month ago and about a week about went back to a 30 year old black Phillips neb.

sad
