Taking biotin will affect any tests you take. It says this on the bottom of the bottle in small print.
I know so I don’t use it anymore, I use very few meds but I need them so now I’m looking into rosemary oil and see what it does.
I went to see this dermatologist who told me she was the "hair expert." She gave me a prescription for a medication that you rubbed into your scalp. By the way I guess I should mention that first she took a biopsy. She didn't even numb me, just cut out this piece from my scalp. It said I had scarring, alopecia and one other thing that I have forgotten. What they did not tell me was that this medication raises your blood sugar. I live alone so I have no one to check on me to see how I am doing. I was close to being in a coma after several days before I figured out what was doing this. So I stopped and almost immediately started to feel better. Then I saw a different dermatologist. He prescribed a different medication; this time in a pill form. But I refused to take it. I am 90 years old. I take two medications for blood pressure and that's it. If I made it to now without all those meds, then not taking them will not make me sick. I am a healthy 90 year old.

1 ReactionWhat was the medicine she recommended that you rub into scalp? Is it for alopecia? What did she prescribe for alopecia?
I don't know. All I know is that it was a liquid. When I picked it up from the pharmacy, the pharmacist came to the counter to tell me how to use it. Frankly it never occurred to me to ask what it was specifically for. She never mentioned the word alopecia. Then I started taking biotin. This interfered with my test results. It also says that on the bottle in small print. So my doctor said stop taking it. Again, on my own, i am now taking collagen. The loss of hair seems to be at a standstill.

I must admit I didn't do much research on this. I picked it up at the superarket. It was Nature Made.
thank you
When was your last physical exam with complete blood work? There could be something going on that needs to be addressed. I am a believer in natural remedies and have been for years. I am a believer though in working in conjunction with a healthcare provider, but use discernment.
