Portable Oxygen Machines

I'm currently using Inogen One G5 but don't feel all the comfortable with it. Does anyone use one that they really like? If so, please share.

My use of my portable varies. I rely on oximeter readings to inform my usage and also titrate O2 level as needed.

Wanting to purchase, as I already have had Medicare support a stationary and portable concentrators, another stationary and a smaller POC - I have a Inogen Rove 5 now. I find it very cumbersome......I am only 5 ft tall and weigh 92 lbs. Use of the shoulder strap throws my balance as does carrying it by the handle. I usually mobilize with the hand strap on my shoulder so that the POC is almost under my arm Have a very small frame as well. I am looking currently at the Rove 4 Inogen. I would use the Rove 5 in the car and running into a store for a short period of time, use the Rove 4 in a small satchel/purse. Any experiences and/or thoughts to share?
Thank you

Many people with COPD want to use a portable . I want to use a portable.. I cannot . I need more supplemental oxygen than any portable can give me. 3 liters is not enough for me. If you use one , be sure it supports your needs . Check it with an oximeter OFTEN. When your levels repeatedly go below 90. Having to sit and wait to resume your actions is not something you want to do repeatedly. I am the one with the cart and a tank. I want my needs met all the time I am out.

You're a better person than me. I can't lug the cart and tank so I use the portable. As a result, I stay home a lot unless I can get someone to drive me. I wish I had your strength!

We are trying to have the bipartisan SOAR act passed that will allow folks who have high O2 flow needs like you use liquid O2. I’ve used it and love how lightweight a portable it is. Sadly with low reimbursements, it is VERY difficult for people to get liquid O2.

If the SOAR act is passed in Congress, it will give patients more options.

I am not better . I have help with tanks . Apria delivers them to my garage. I secure two in my car. One I use for traveling . Then I hook to the one on the cart to get out of the car . Putting them in the car is the hard part . Pulling them around is easy. I have one on a cart that sits in the garage too . I use it to get from the garage to my house concentrator. I have serious arthritis. My shoulders both need replacement surgery . I don’t have it because of the risk of my lungs getting hurt by anesthesia . They also do a nerve block. Some have problems with that. So sometimes I can’t go . If your portable gives you enough oxygen then that is good. I just need too much to use one .
