Tips on minimizing withdrawal symptoms from Effexor (aka Venlafaxine)

Posted by richyrich @richyrich, Nov 2, 2016

I have been taking Effexor/Venlafaxine for years and tried to get off it a few times but each time I try to give up the chemical withdrawal symptoms are a horror story and I give up giving up. Anyone got any tips or tried and tested strategies? Thank you

Here is another option,
Cinderella Therapeutics Foundation located in the Netherlands.

I imagine there would be insurance problems.

This is doable. Find some cbd and message me for a recipe.
You are going to get hit with emotions. Be prepared.

For us with estrogen challenges, (total hysterectomy at age 42 )
Go get red clover tea at the health food store follow their instructions. Tea bags or loose. I use loose.

I add 1 tsp honey for 5 cups water with the leaves.
Steep for 20 minutes.
Drink cold or hot.
I use 2 tbsp red clover , kind of heaping, for 5 cups of water.
I just perk it thru the coffee pot.

It works wonders. I am back to my sunny self in an hour.
Then I keep drinking it I know it’s enough.
Then I quit until I get emotional again.
Worry, stress, gone.

What some folks do (me included) is to open up the capsules and take out five or so little beads for a month. Then 10, etc etc. when you get to about half the beads go ahead and get a smaller RX. Then open those caps up. Took me 18 months to ween off 37.5. Remember, as the dosage gets smaller, take out fewer beads at a clip. (Because percentage-wise, it’s a lot more at the smaller doses). But know this, you will be ok. I am weened off completely.

That being said, however, I am back on an anti anxiety and anti depression med. wish I didn’t need to, but c’est la vie.

Curious as to what anti-anxiety and anti-depression meds you're on. I've had to go back on, too, and while it's ok, it isn't great. However, it took some experimentation to get to this point, so I'm reluctant to ask to try anything else. And c'est la vie?? Indeed -- for me, too!

What anti-anxiety and anti-depression meds are you taking? I had to go back on, too. It took some experimentation to get to where I currently am and it's better, but not great. I was sorry I had to take anything, but, as you said, c'est la vie!
