BOTOX at 71

Posted by hopenr @hopenr, Mar 12 10:29am

I look in the mirror some days and see someone older than I feel. I am 71 and wonder if anyone has had BOTOX at my age? Or filler? Any suggestions?

Hello @hopenr
I’m right there with you!

Turned 65 recently, and sometimes when I catch a glimpse of my reflection in the mirror, I think, who is that old woman??????
Like you I don’t think my outside reflects how my inside feels.
I’ve started paying attention to how I fix my hair and how I’m dressing. Trying to keep up with my self care too, all those things matter in how we perceive ourselves. And most of all just smile more , it will make us look and feel better!
Best,

I agree- I try and dress stylishly and have gone back to wearing some makeup although I probably need a tutorial. 🙂 Wondering about Botox.

I am 75 and had Botox about 3 months ago. I don’t think it does as much for me now as it did when I first started using it in my 50’s. I always go to my MD Dermatologist…not one of these “salons” …so it is probably a little more expensive but definitely worth the peace of mind. In my experience Botox can ease the crease between my eyebrows and lines near my eyes but filler is what is used for the lines around the mouth. If you decide to do it my suggestion is to get recommendations for the right physician and do some research so you know what to expect. Rest and a big smile doesn’t cost anything and can go usually go a long way. Good luck whatever you decide.

I used to get Botox and fillers when in my early 40’s! I am a big fan. I’m glad because I think getting it for several years helped me long term. I still think I reap the benefits 20 years later. Now, I’m planning on lower face lift, but may get botox touch up, if surgeon recommends it. He did caution me of fillers now. Apparently, they now use the patient’s own fat for fillers.

@hornet
"Botox... between my eyebrows" -- What's the approximate charge for this? How long does the procedure take? Any particular precautions to take? And about how long does it last on average?

Thank you. Asking for a friend.

When looking at older women who have a bit of Botox here and there they seem to pull it off. However, especially when you see rich people who can afford the best of the best, they have over done Botox so badly and don't look human. Aging gradually the natural way I would think would look so much better than over doing it. But, a little here and there could make one feel better about their appearance.

$144? What state are you in? That sounds like a great price.
