Husband got up last night looking for a dog: start of delusions?

My Husband got up last night looking for a dog ..we have not had a dog in over 20 years He has moderate Alz.does anyone know if that is a start of being Delusional?

I have used the Mayo Clinic online for a few years to seek advice on other medical issues. When I was researching dementia online, Mayo Clinic Connect popped up.

I don't know if it the start of anything but my wife diagnosed with both Alzheimer's and Parkinson's occasionally does something similar; wants to go outside in middle of the night looking for me. Or, gets up, dresses and looks to get ready for a non-existing appointment. This has been going on for several years.
