Anyone taking Mirtazapine? Is it working for you? Any side effects?
Has anyone been taking Mirtazapine? Like to know if they have taken themselves off and how did you do it?

I took it for one day and needed to stop. It made me ravenous and I can’t afford to gain any weight. My understanding is it is known to cause weight gain and that it really shouldn’t be prescribed to people who should not gain weight, are at risk for diabetes/heart disease, joint issues, etc.

I do better on bupropion and Sertraline. Many antipsychotics have significant side effects but there are many other options to try to find a medication combination that works best for you. Advocate for yourself and don’t give up until you get the symptom relief you need and deserve.
Dry mouth, it does increase appetite which is one of the reasons it was prescribed for me.
It makes me drowsy during the day. But sleep good at night. When I get up I am ok , but as the day goes on I become tired and lonely. I have no appetite. Have to make myself eat.
Yes, increased appetite @ 15mg. Some sleep help. Still trying to get med balance with Mirtazapine and Lexapro.
I’m struggling on day 10 of remeron. How long would you give it? I’m having terrible side effects.

I noticed day 1 after taking Remeron/mirtazapine my appetite was out of control and stopped right then and there. If your side effects are intolerable, you should talk to your doctor about stopping it. I stopped on my own right away but was on a very low dose so no side effects coming off it. What dosage are you on now?
I’m on 7.5
