Do others with Aortic Root Aneurysms experience upper chest / esophag?

Husband with 4.9 aortic root aneurysm and moderate to severe aortic valve regurgitation, has been experiencing esophageal/ upper chest discomfort. We are thinking that it may be just reflux, but it’s been a lot of years that he hasn’t had reflux symptoms .
Could it also be associated with with his aneurysm?

i have a 4.8 aortic root aneurysm. I would strongly suggest you consult with your doctor asap. I don’t believe you will find anyone on this site is qualified to answer your question. His symptoms may not be related to the aneurysm, but I wouldn’t want to take the risk or live in the uncertainty.

I think those symptoms are pretty common with people with aneurysms because things get pretty congested in the chest. As I understand it, an expanded aorta can press against the esophagus. I'm at 4.8 and will experience occasional discomfort if I eat a big meal. As others said, if it is a persistent problem, it might be a good idea to speak to your doctor.

It’s probably fair to say that everyone’s situation is different. I’ve never experienced any pain or cheet discomfort. My 4.8 aortic root aneurysm was discovered in the testing I had done after my 65 year old brother died of an unexplained heart attack last year. He was also asymptomatic
