10 yrs ago had the BAV/Aneurysms fixed and now I have another, 4.9 at a lower spot on the ascending aorta, near the root. If the BAV was a congenital issue and resulted in the original problem, is it odd that I have another aneurysms in a different spot?

I had a 5.2cm aneurysm repaired 5 years ago, I also have a BAV which was left as it was highly functional. My cardiologist is an aortic disease specialist (also BAVs) and every 4-5 years he orders a complete scan (MRIs) of the aortic path and branches, pelvis, abdomen and chest (also head since I also had a brain aneurysm repaired, but the neurosurgeon normally orders those) to make sure no new aneurysms are appearing. He tells me people with BAVs are more prone to aneurysms, and there is a family propensity which adds in my case. I need to watch myself for life as it is not unusual for others to appear. He also told me there is a possibility (although small) to develop a new dilation where the graft from the repair and the aorta were sawn together.

Hope things go well for you
