I suspect my blepharoplasties (2 of them years apart), added to my dry eye or possibly caused it, however the way I looked was disheartening. So…..I might have done it a little differently. But, I did vet my surgeons.

How was your healing time and where were they located?

The lipomas were located in my back, sides, and legs. They healed in about 1 month after general surgery. Very minimal scaring. The other lipomas in forearms took longer about 2 months. The scars are small but left a dip or small crater where they had to take out tissue around the lipoma. I still have soo many. But was glad I got some of them taken care of.

Were the incisions painful after surgery?

Do you think you’ll have more of them removed?

Thank you for asking your question. I'm following as also interested.

I had a facelift when I was 52 and never regretted it. Now I'm 78 and people say I still look at least 10 years younger. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone over the age of 70 as I believe the result would look artificial. Plus the facial skin is more delicate at an older age and the healing takes much longer.

I'd be very interested in which skin care regimen you followed after surgery and to this day.

Good evening. I totally agree with you. I am 82 years old now. When I was 72, my life partner and I went to San Miguel de Allende to visit my business partner and friend. She introduced us to one of her neighbors who was a special surgeon for faces, necks, etc. We met with him and agreed to come back the following year for face "lifts," chin "reductions," and some other fixes for our eyes.

The surgeon had his own operating theater, and he actually picked us up at our friend's house the morning of our surgeries. We were both thrilled to see the results in about four days.

This surgeon is one of the medical doctors who has formed a support group for children with facial reconstruction needs. They dedicated Wednesdays to helping younger folks who needed some face-lifting but didn't have the resources. They also helped older folks who had arrived even 50 years ago but with disfigured faces.

It's been a while now, and I am still very pleased with my new "chin and face". My life partner found out that he could see once again after his eyes were altered.

Good luck to you.
Chris

I had one at 58 and I'm 85 now. I recently connected with two old friends from high school and I was shocked at how much younger and healthier I looked. I have aged normally since the surgery, but it took off about 20 years.
I don't regret it at all. We all should strive to look our best. I haven't had any other treatments like botox or fillers or anything. I don't want to look really young I just don't want to look really old.

I love your positivity and self worth. I am currently going through the healing process of a lower facelift. I'd be very interested in what skincare products you have been using over the last several years.

I retired from my 32-year career in Information Technology in 2008 at the age of 58, tired and stressed out.

I decided to gift myself with a facelift and it was one of the best decisions I’ve made. The surgeon was highly experienced and had a reputation of 1) listening to what the client’s concerns were and 2) making changes that look natural rather than ‘fixed’.
It was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. And the results have been long lasting.

I also recommend avoiding sun exposure without a 40 SPF sunscreen to protect your skin from sun damage. I have very fair skin that doesn’t tan and as a result, I had my first skin cancer while I was in my 30’s, so I’ve been applying sunscreen daily ever since.

I am 74 now and I am still very pleased with the results from that decision I made 16 years ago.

You look fabulous. I'm on the search for the best skincare regimen after facelift surgery and forward. I'm 64 and just went through a lower neck/facelift. I wish in my younger days I knew of the importance of sunblock. I am paying for my ignorance now. Moving forward i will definitely be more protective of my skin.

I hardly ever use soap and water to cleanse. I use makeup removing wipes then with a washcloth and hot water sort of steam my face. Then I apply a good quality moisturizer and one with spf of 30 for daytime. I use DRMTLGY universal tinted moisturizer after instead of foundation. My skin still looks radiant and smooth at almost 79 years of age. People who don't know me think I'm at least 10 years younger than my true age.

I am almost 66. I did a lower facelift 2 years ago. I am very very happy I did! and like you, I didn't want to look like I was scowling, and just wanted to look pleasant. I look very natural, and people assume I'm 10-15 years younger than I am. One caveat: make sure docs appreciate/understand when you come in for various med issues. They tend to be dismissive when I have arthritic issues. They will tend to judge you by your looks!
