Looking for accommodation near Mayo Phoenix Arizona

Posted by Alaa @alaa0, 2 days ago

Hello everyone,

I am looking for short-term accommodation near Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona as I will be staying there for a month in March. Ideally, I would like a place that is close to the clinic, safe, and affordable.

If anyone has recommendations for housing options, shared accommodations, or rental listings, I would greatly appreciate your suggestions.

I would start by looking at comments in this recent discussion. Even though the title has shuttle, there is list of hotels and other recommendations.

And, if do the following search, will find other discussion, comments and suggestions:

Is this your first trip to Mayo?

Hello @alaa0
Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. @roch is a walking encyclopedia for all things Mayo! I would add my input here, but tell you I have never been to the Phoenix campus. However, a close friend just spent two and half months there before and after a liver transplant. I asked her where she and her husband (and two dogs) stayed and this is her response:
Debra,
When I was looking for places near Mayo Phoenix, I used VRBO. Once you have the city selection in place, you can put Mayo Clinic in as a filter option.

This is the link to the VRBO we stayed in. Everyone has a different idea of what is affordable, but I found by directly messaging the host and explaining why we would be in Phoenix for so long, I was able to get a discount for long-term renting. Here is the link to one we stayed in: https://www.vrbo.com/582650

I hope that you find that information helpful in addition to what Laurie shared.

1) Sonesta Suites Gainey, Scottsdale. Large Mayo discount, huge rooms, breakfast, microwave in room. Convenient to go to Mayo. Next door is lovely shopping center with restaurants, grocery store, walking distance
2) Car rental at airport reasonable
3) I rented scooter to use at hotel. They deliver and pick up.
I did not want to be stranded at Mayo hotel. It’s sorta far from everything and I enjoyed tropical pool at hotel. Very nice personnel which makes a stay.

See my comments below. Mayo sort of remote and I stayed at Sonesta Suites Gainey in Scottsdale. Reasonable and nice.
Rented car at airport. Again reasonable
Rented scooter for hotel.
Great stay and shopping center next door. Fabulous restaurants and even a grocery store.
