Newly diagnosed with liver cancer, having trouble coping
Just diagnosed with liver cancer 4 days ago. Looks to be an early diagnosis. Still my anxiety and thoughts are all over the place. Any help or advice will be appreciated. Are there zoom or online cancer support groups. Joe

I had two cancerous growth in my liver also. They found them in Nov, 24. I went through all the tests and my radiologist suggested Y90. I won't lie, the recovery was tough due to the size of the tumors. Crippling fatigue was the hardest as was 11 weeks of evening fevers. I had another MRI two weeks ago and got a call from my Radiologist yesterday, 1/23/25 and was told 98% of the treated tumor was dead and/or dying. 98%!!. How about that. So, don't be afraid of the Y90. The hardest part is waiting every step of the way. Try to figure out how to turn off the "what if" switch in your head and you will do fine.
Great news. I had a 3.5 cm tumor treated with Y90 November 2023 and they killed it. Had MRI every 3 months since and no new activity. Health is good. Went on transplant list May 2024 with exception points. Hoping for good news soon.
How big were your tumors? Are you on the wait list?
How old is too old for transplant? I heard that you can still get transplanted into your 70s if your overall health is good.
Congratulations! It is amazing how far medicine has come. We are so lucky that there is hope even when things look dire. Good luck with your transplant journey.
May I ask what is Y90? Is that a treatment or medication? Why I have started chemo before they have got back my biopsy is because I had the Whipple procedure in October for pancreas cancer. When I had my 3 month blood test (CA-19) it was in the 3000's also had CT scan the same day showed that I have 5 spots on my liver biggest one being 2.6cm next one was 2cm the other 3 are 1cm. Which all grew in three months time weird but ture and also had radiation while I was open. So when I met with my oncologist in January 2025 she told me that there was no hope even though I just had the biopsy and results aren't back yet. By the way I have requested a new oncologist because I don't think she has my health in my best interest. Fills like she is not fighting for me. I was a basket case for days had to get my positive back on track. I feel great best that I have since this all started last year in January. I have energy eating well so the fight and positivity is going well and it not the end because I am not going to let what one oncologist said defeat me. So if you can please let me know what the Y90 is it would be greatly appreciated so I can ask my new oncologist about it. Everyone stay positive!!!
