Issue with the corners of your mouth?
I have been waking up with these sore areas in the corners of my mouth that hurt and show that white area you get from cuts in the mouth. Has anyone else experienced this? It only started after the Big 3.

Excuse m,e but what are the Big 3?
Home remedies do not usually do the trick.
As a hygienist I often gave patients nystatin for thrush.
Swish it and then swallow it.
There are now new meds that your dentist can prescribe.
The problem at the corner of your mouth is called angular cheilitis.
This is also caused by candida.
I saw it more commonly in older men that had characteristic deep jowl lines.
Ointment is used in this area.
These areas were often aggravated by shaving and the common drooling when sleeping.
Diet is important. I stressed fresh produce and fewer carbs.
Sorry, it is the three antibiotics that are commonly prescribed for MAC. They are taken 3 times a week. So, instead of naming them all each time, which I would have to look up every time, we often reply to them as "The Three" or something along those lines.
I don't eat sugars or that many carbs. So, it doesn't need them to grow. It can make them worse, but I know mine were only antibiotic-based.
Yes, I got them all of the time. My mouth was so dry all of the time along with my lips. I just used a lot of Aquaphor on my lips.
I have had angular cheilitis at various times in my life, as a young adult and into middle age. It seemed to occur when I had a virus. I was told by a pharmacist to use Vicks Vapor Rub on the corners of my mouth and it does the trick (at least for my situation). I always keep a small container of VVR even when I travel in case I feel it starting up. The earlier you catch it, the quicker it goes away. If you use a different brand, make certain it has the same active ingredients. Once I bought a generic brand and it didn’t do anything. Once I compared the ingredients, I saw they weren’t the same.
I have also suffered from horrible mouth ulcers (not at the same time as angular cheilitis) and taking acidophilus and eating a lot of yogurt helps keep them at bay. I also avoid taking Augmentin as this will cause me to have multiple large, painful mouth ulcers.
Since this thread started, it has been diagnosed as thrush. My asthma started when I was 18 months old, and my mom tried Vicks Rub on my chest when I was almost 3. She said my asthma kicked in so fast that she nearly called an ambulance to get me to the hospital. Thankfully, I am not getting angular cheilitis; it would be terrible to have something I could use to stop it and not be able to use it.
Thank you for the information
