My prostate aquibation
Here is the beginning of my story about my prostate aquibation and the recovery I am making so far. I am a 75 year old male.
Prostate size was 150 grams. Surgery was done at Wellstore Kennestone Hospital in Marietta GA in the Greater Atlanta area. The hospital care and experience was excellent.
It's been two weeks and four days since my prostate aquablation surgery.
Stayed overnight in hospital for the blood hemorrhage flushing and home the next day with catheter . Catheter came out four days later ,was not painful . My doctor took me off Flomax and proscar the day after surgery which I'm glad he did because of drugs did not agree with me but kept my urination flowing.
My recovery so far has been urinating blood which is getting less red and more lighter cranberry ,with bladder spasms which have been getting less in discomfort as the days go by. I am able to control the annoyance of the bladder spasms with Tylenol . I am getting up between 5 and 8 times a night. I was getting up between two and three times a night before the surgery. I am urinating 22 times a day 64 ounces. I am drinking about 75 ounces of water per day. Before that I was urinating 8 to 10 times a day approximately 30 to 35 ounces but went less fluid intake.
My first question is how long before getting up so many times per night will drop back down to 1 or 2 times per night?
My second question and also possible answer to other people's question is.
After the two week and 4 day mark my wife and I had oral sex.
No problem with erection, a good but somewhat sore orgasm. But no ejaculation, which I was also having on Flomax for a month . So if anybody is wondering how long you should wait, two weeks and 4 days worked for me so far.
My third question is, anybody who has had this before me with reverse ejaculation did it eventually go away or was it permanent and how long did it take before it came back if it did.
My 4th question is how long did it take before your flow started getting better than what it was before surgery . I'm urinating more in frequency but not much faster.

Question: Online I see prostate aquablation as treating benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH). This is a forum about prostate cancer. Was this used as a treatment for PC or are you just checking in with the forum since there's overlap? I hadn't heard about aquablation being used for PC.
After RALP my flow was better once the catheter was removed, but we all know results differ tremendously. I too was drinking as much water as I could. I still drink a lot more than before the surgery 2+ years later.

I had not heard of this before, but it made me wonder if they are using water to get rid of tissue are they using the same thing to remove a Prostate? It struck me as sort of an awkward procedure.

1 ReactionAquablation is an alternative to TURP and is used to treat BPH. I haven't found any discussion of it as a treatment for prostate cancer.

1 ReactionI am in a rock and hard place, am 65 be 66 in March I been suffering BPH for about 10-12 years now. Have had 2 MRIs and 1 biopsy, my PSA is elevated, its been as low as 4 and high as 11 but stable at 7 and and enlarged prostate and have been taking Cialis and Tadafil for a long time. Also have prostatitis as well. My urologist said both MRIs and the biopsy showed no cancer, my prostate is slowly decreasing with meds, I also have overactive bladder, he gave me samples of Gemstea and asked me to look into aquablation. does Aquablation cure prostatatis and will I have to continue the meds after procedure. The samples have curbed my OAB and still go 0-2 times after bedtime, I was wondering more so of curing my prostatatis, slow down the OAB and the meds, any take on this?

Hi I think aquablation is same as the procedure called RESUME . I had it, it has been over two years. My PSA was 9 used to have UTI and prostate in fiction often, not any more. I was 70 when I had it , we heal little slower so I had catheter little longer. But worth it.
So what is your PSA now? How long ago did you have the surgery?
Also what is a prostate in fiction often??

1 ReactionRezum uses steam injection into prostate, whereas Aquablation uses room temperature water at high pressure to remove the prostate tissue.
