Sneezing with a 4.8 TAA

Posted by cdt55 @cdt55, Dec 9 10:08am

Hi all.

When I sneeze, I usually sneeze about 8-10 times in a row, rapid fire! Always have. Has anyone heard from their doctor about this being dangerous? I’d hate to die because I sneezed, but I suppose it better than while sitting on the toilet!
Thanks, Charlie

PS - great site. I’m from Long Island. Went to Dr. Kalimi at Northwell Health.

I don’t believe you have anything to worry about there. Sudden spikes in blood pressure is necessary to avoid like heavy lifting can do for example. Biking, as another example, slowly increases BP so it’s a recommended exercise. Sneezing might momentarily slightly lower BP but it won’t lead to a sudden massive spike. So sneeze away my friend, just make sure to say God bless you. 👍

Hello there, I have an 5.0 that grew from 4.9 in 6 months. I have alot of the same concerns, ie coughing hard from flem ect. When I ask, cardiologist said "we all cough". I found it slightly insulting, like duh? thanks for enlightening me. I am going to ask my regular dr if there are any physical theropists that deal with these issues. It would be helpful to have a a coach to say what and how to lift ect

I’d be very interested in finding out what they tell you. My surgeon told me nothing greater than 30 pounds and no isometric exercise. But running and biking, are fine. Just nothing that will increase your blood pressure quickly. Unfortunately, I forgot to ask about sneezing.
