Anyone been prescribed Ohtuvayre (new med)? Your experience?
Has anyone been prescribed the new COPD medication by their treatment team....Ohtuvayre? Just wondering if it now active, how it is effecting patients and how well it does/doesn't work

I was looking forward to it as well. You lasted longer than I did......after 5 days I was done. As an add-on to your regular treatment with inhalers one should see the effects when it is taken. It's not a medication that should take time to become effective. I'll have to go back and read the studies. Hype over nothing!
I believe that I have commented on this before but am unable to find my posting. Are postings being screened and/or deleted based on content?
I did not last as long as 2 weeks before I stopped taking the ohtuvayre as I found absolutely no additional relief in my symptoms. Since it is an add-on treatment one should probably expect additional relief at the time of administration. Truly disappointing!
So sorry to hear that. I’m waiting for approval or something. I was really counting on this new treatment to help my shortness of breath. I’m really disappointed and discouraged.
I am too, my Friend! With all the Hype one would expect more, much more! Even bought stock in Verona Pharm as it's almost tripled in last couple of months...LOL! Since Ohtuvayre is of the PDE 3& 4 medications perhaps Daliresp would be a good substitute. I am going to do more reading. I do know that alot of Nurse Practitioners have commented that they have used both Ohtuvayre and Daliresp in tandem. To me it would be worth a try. Daliresp is also a PDE 3 & 4 Inhibitor. Food for thought
I was on it for 3 weeks as an add-on with no noticeable results.
I know! So disappointing! I'm thinking that if the practitioners add Daliresp perhaps we'd get an extra "bump." Don't know how this got past the FDA!
DALIRESP belongs to a group of medications called PDE4 (phosphodiesterase-4) inhibitors. No mention of it being a PDE 3 Inhibitor.
You're correct! However, clinicians have expressed a belief that if Daliresp is added to Ohtuvayre it will enhance the effects of the PDE 4 .....Many are attempting to relieve symptoms in this manner. but will have to question the practitioners a little more in whether or not it has been effective.
I was on Ohtuvayre for a month It did not help one bit I discontinued its use. Also it raised my BP to 175/125 In my opinion this drug is a failure. And it is very expensive
