Has anyone else experienced high pulse rates after having Covid?
I recently had Covid after testing negative I am experiencing high pulse rates. Because of this I am experiencing anxiety. It is really effecting my life at this point. I’m wondering how long this can last.

First, my sympathy for the continuing difficulties. When my heart rate/pulse rises I try diaphragmatic or belly breathing. Try putting those terms in your search engine. I find it helps slow down my heart.
After Covid I’ve had fluctuating pulse rates.
Lab tests didn’t diagnose the problem, but changing my position from lying to sitting or standing, my pulse rate increased 30 points.
There are many things it could be, but I was diagnosed by my cardiologist with POTS.
I haven’t had success with either medicine -separately or combined but I’m hopeful.
If you have an Oximeter put it on a finger and see if there’s a fluctuation from lying to sitting to standing.
Or try a blood pressure cuff in different positions.
Good luck!
Thank you for taking the time to answer it helps to know that I’m not alone.
Same here when I’m resting I’m within acceptable but high numbers. Then after tapping my chest and trying to relax I have gotten it much lower. But when I get up it changes to much higher numbers. I’m sure that my anxiety over this also plays into the problem.
I hope that you find a answer to your problem. Know that your not alone I was on Reditt and found others are having to deal with the same issues.
Hi @silkabasya1. Know how daunting this can be and please know you have many here to help. My post covid journey with post covid clinic doctors, functional medicine, … share that this actually affects the autonomic nervous system for many which in turn causes physical anxiety responses and then we can become anxious😵💫. Box breathing helps reset the nervous system and physical therapists are aware of simple movements( or none) & techniques to assist with various symptoms as well. Hope this helps and quickest healing to you🌈
silkabaysa1, Bless you. You are not alone on this. I had a high heart rate of 136 after COVID doing absolutely nothing. It does make you feel anxious.
I went to a cardiologist and had the echo stress test done, halter monitor and it all came out fine.
It took it about 3 months to come back down to normal.
Praying for you as I understand how this make you feel. You are very aware of your heart rate when it is higher than normal.
Did you take any medication while it was high?
Thank you so much for sharing your story with me. It seems like I’m not alone in this situation which helps me to cope and have hope❤️
I haven’t as yet. Just trying to find technics to cope I believe a lot of it is brought on by stress and anxiety. I feel like I’m in a loop and the anxiety is feeding it. Just trying to find some relief to get through each day.
Honestly sometimes I just want to cry but I don’t because that would only raise it higher. Lol I’m a mess.
Thank you. I find that praying helps me. I feel for what you went through. I am so happy to hear that you have made it through the tunnel to the other side and are feeling better now.❤️ it gives me hope!!!
