Did I stop growing? What can a teen do to grow taller?
I’m 14 years old and have been 5’6 for about a few months now and I’m not sure if I should be worried or not. I hit my first growth spurt back in 4th grade when I was 4’9 and grew, by the time I was in 6th grade I was 5’1 . Then 7th grade came and I grew 5 more inches. By the time the pandemic started I was 5’6. I started 8th grade and finished 8th grade (currently about to go to 9th) and still haven’t grown a single inch. The doctor says I have a lot of testosterone and should be exercising more so I did but no signs of growth yet. Is there a certain exercise or medication or any remedies I can take to increase my height or maximize it?

I want to add that it is important to eat nutritious foods. In todays world we have too many over processed foods. We want our foods fast.
You will need to get the proper amounts of protein and carbs to help you grow. You will get many suggestions on that by simply typing into you web browser: diet to help a teenage boy grow .
Talk with your parents about these goals of growth in height and being healthier. I do know all parents are not approachable.. I hope yours are.
I wish you the best in your life.

You have gotten so much good advice here! Genetics is definitely a factor. However, you have the possibility to grow taller than your parents.
Starting puberty at 12 is not early- of course it depends on what criteria are used to determine that puberty started.
You are only 14 and should have more growth spurts. Some young men can still grow in their early 20s.
A pediatrician or family physician would be able to give you a better idea.

I’m sorry you have not heard from anyone yet.
It may help you get an idea of growth if you look at other posts here in About Kids & Teens.
It’s helpful to know when you started puberty. At 15 you should not be done growing- growth may be slower, but many young people grow into their early 20s.
I always advise teens to check with their pediatrician or family doctor - your doctor should have a pretty good idea of what you can expect.
Im nearly 17 and im 5'8". My mom is 5'6" and my dad is 6' tall. I've only grew half an inch in the last 2 years. I hit puberty a few months before my friends and that time i already had a growth spurt from 6th to 8th grade when i went from 5' to 5'6" since then i only grew 2 inches. Please help me out because im really worried im not gonna grow any taller.
Im 6,7 at 14 parents 6,8 and 5,9 i had like 2 growth spurts i grew like 5-4 cm last year my shoe size increased this year by 47 to 48-48,5 im done or can i grow 1-2 more inches ?
I, 13 years old male, have been really insecure about my height. i curently stand at 175cm tall, with my parents being 168 and 175, and ive had 2 major growth spurts in those last 2 years, each resulting in a 10cm height increase. i exercise every day, eat ballanced meals, and have been overall active. i was wondering if there is a way for me to reach 190cm tall, no matter what would that include. even though i am aware that is most likely impossible, i would love to hear any suggestions or opinions you may have.
thank you for your time
Im 14 and im 5.11ft/179cm. I have puberty earlier than my friends and now Im growing slowly (1inch/2cm in 9months). My dad is 172 and my mum 173. My doctor said about 185cm/6.1ft, but that was time when I was growing fast. HOW TALL WOULD I BE?

In general, one looks at the parents’ heights as a guide.
You are already taller than your father at 14.
You probably had your major growth spurt already, but you are still growing. You will continue to grow at a slower rate through your teens. Some people even continue into their 20s.
Nobody can give an exact number that you will reach. There are many factors involved.
It is definitely possible that you will grow past your doctor’s estimate of 6’1”.
Why don’t you ask your doctor at your next visit!
Hi,I'm 18 years old and unfortunately my bone plates just closed.I need to gain a few inches. Is there any way for this medically?I can do whatever it takes.I am now 1'72 and would like to be 1.77,1.78
I have never heard of a viable solution at this late stage. That is not to say there is not one, but it seems like if there was it would carry substantial short and long term risks.
Can I ask why you would so desperately want to be 5 or 6 inches taller?
