I am sorry to hear that. I am just wondering if you have ever been in a position where you can try accupucture or massage for the nerve damage. You would have to get a doctor to refer you to have it paid for, otherwise like everything else the costs just keep going up when it comes out of your own pocket. I haven't been back to my accupuncturist since covid hit, but when raking and leaf blowing ends I will be making another appointment to see if she can help with essential tremors. I can almost bet her answer will be, YES.
Hi,
I have had to many surgeries to have acupuncture work. I've tried it. I
can't take much massage because I have Fibromyalgia.. We all have so many
issues that hurts another issue.
Karen, I'm new to all of this, since I started out thinking I was waking up to a vibrating bed because my little dog was cold. I woke up several times a night to cover him up, until last week I realized it was me vibrating and not him!!!! I'm wondering if you have tried accupuncture at all? I plan to try it as soon as leaf cleaning season is over.
I do chair exercises and stretch as much as possible...
Your right about treatments. It's crazy how many things a person can deal
with , with no pain relief. I don't take anything , but Tylenol when it's
a high level.. it helps just a bit to handle it..

Taylor, type into search engine, "benefits of N-Acetyle Choline." I found it by accident about 2 weeks ago in a pill to support the liver. There is 800 mg in this liver pill, and this is a supplement. It stopped my internal tremors on the first day I took the pill. I had a few that night in bed, but now they are gone. I have awakened in the morning while laying in bed and get a light one while watching the news, but I have to concentrate to see if there are any because my bed is no longer vibrating. They are gone and look at the benefits of this natural supplement.
Yes, I was diagnosed in 2009 and I just deal with it because I have spondylitis, fibromyalgia, severe scoliosis, chronic pain, kyphosis, arthritis, osteoarthritis, osteopenia and other issues. My head shakes so bad, hand tremors where all of a sudden I find I’m dropping stuff all over floors and my suggestion is go Neurologist who can prescribe meds to help. PC is indifferent. Other than that just learn to live with it. I don’t care what people think if I’m shaking. I didn’t want to take such powerful narcotic I was prescribed because I am on other pain meds and over 70. So I opted to not take and stick with pain meds because the pain is unbearable. BTW I was diagnosed with Essential Tremor Benign.

Babby, Have you ever tried the
N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC)? This stuff is in a liver support pill that I take and is all natural and stopped my tremors day one. My tremors are not as extreme as yours, but I was waking up thinking my bed was vibrating and kept covering my little dog up, thinking he was shivering. Vet visit brought it to my attention nothing wrong with Cubby, and I was not believing this could be me vibrating my bed and I didn't know it. It sounds like even if you could get some relief it would be good. I do not have any external shaking. I was all internal. NAC can be purchased at health food stores and the liver support pill I take has 800 mg in each pill. I am supposed to take 2 a day but I only take one as they tend to constipate me so I stick with one in the morning. I have no tremors all day, and most nights. Some mornings when I first wake up I still have slight tremors, but nothing vibrating the bed and if I could take the 2nd pill in the evening I have no doubt mine would be gone.
I do not find that the essential tremors affect my sleep. I also have restless leg syndrome which is another diagnosis that may or may not be related to my essential tremors. I have had RLS since I was a child, way before I even knew what it is called. It is also an internal phenomena that is difficult to describe unless you have ever had it. RLS creates an intense urge to move my legs to find comfort. I do not have it every night, but it seems to come in waves. I may have it for a week straight before it subsides until the next episode. It mainly happens at night, although I also have it sometimes when I sit in a meeting, or church, or standing in line at the grocery store. I find that leg exercises sometimes helps with that.
Our bodies are complicated pieces of equipment. Sometimes I have to give up on trying to find out why I am experiencing certain challenges, and just go straight for learning to cope with diet, exercise, or medication as a last resort. At this time, I am not on any medication for my essential tremors or my RLS.
Just as a side note, my 45 year old son also has RLS. His is even worse than mine, and he frequently has difficulty sleeping.
They didn't prevent me from going to sleep, but they woke me up several times a night because it felt like my bed was vibrating. I kept covering my little dog up thinking it was him shivering. I took him to the vet and he is a very healthy little boy, both mentally (they were looking for nervousness or being frightened easily) -- and physically. I came home a lot lighter in the pocketbook but with more questions, like "Am I losing my mind???" This only started about 2 months ago. After the vet visit it took me about a week to realize it was me and the vibrations were on the inside. I put my hand on the bed and it wasn't shaking, yet I could feel it shaking. I put my hand on my side and I could feel the vibrations coming through from my back, while laying on my back. I hopped out of bed and looked up internal vibrations and was shocked to learn how many people are experiencing these. I wish I could put a notice on a billboard to reach everyone to let them know that by complete accident I found something that stopped the tremors, for me at least, on day one. Several years ago I developed a pain in my right side and went to my PA and she did an ultrasound that came back showing a "thickening" in my liver. I don't like today's pharmaceuticals and went online looking for natural alternatives in a supplement to support the liver. I was not having internal tremors at that time. I took the pill for 2-3 months and the pain went away so I stopped taking it. About a month ago I started getting this pain back and went online to find the supplement for supporting the liver again. I ordered it and the first day I took it I noticed a couple hours later that I was not having internal tremors. I went all day without them. I asked myself what I did differently that day and that pill was the only thing. I looked up each ingredient and the main ingredient N-Acetyl Cystiene (NAC) has got some unbelievable health advantages to its credit. It is used for Parkinson's and is used to treat tremors, both inside and outside the body. It can be purchased at any health food store all on its own, and comes in 1,000 mg. capsules. The amount I get in my liver supplement is 800 mg. and is supposed to be taken 2 times a day. I, for one can attest, this worked 100% for me. I only take one in the morning because it tends to constipate me if I take 2. I thought it could not be possible this all natural supplement stopped these tremors, and figured it would not last. I'm in my third week and NONE during the day, and rarely any at night. If I could take the pill at night I have no doubt I would have none at night, but as it is, as long as I don't let myself get dehydrated I am having NONE at night either. If I've been working out in the yard and not drinking enough water to keep me hydrated, I may have very mild tremors when I first wake up, but I NEVER wake up in a vibrating bed anymore, and my little dog is very happy that Mom quit covering him up several times a night!!!!
Karen, I have been trying to reach out to as many people as I can to let them know that I found an all natural supplement N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC) that worked for me to stop the internal tremors. This was totally by accident as it is the main ingredient in a liver support supplement that I started taking. The first day I took the pill, I noticed a couple hours later, I was having no internal tremors. I immediately looked to see what I did differently and that little capsule was the only thing. My liver support capsule has 800 mg of NAC, and is supposed to be taken twice daily. I only take it once because it tends to constipate me. I thought it was a fluke, but that night I didn't wake up several times to a vibrating bed, but when I woke up I noticed I was having very minor tremors that I had to concentrate on to feel. I waited to start reaching out to others because I wanted to see if this was going to continue. It's 3 weeks of utter relief thus far. The only time I get them when in bed is if I let myself get dehydrated. Even then they are minor, otherwise they are 100% gone with just that one little capsule. Just put "benefits of NAC" in your search engine and you will be surprised what you find. I take as few of today's pharmaceuticals as I can.

Thanks. It's a bummer to not be able to find treatments for things. Are you able to meditate or do gentle Yoga?
I do chair exercises and stretch as much as possible...
