I applaud your honesty. Sometimes we just do what we can to cope with the situation.
The little movements we need to make each day can just be so frustrating. I'm not sure alcohol is any better solution, drugs are drugs. Only you can make that choice. I also have my wine each evening and especially when out with others. I have also been questioning this choice, but who knows, right? Hang in there.

A small dose of propranolol can also be used " AS NEEDED", say 10 or 20 mg or maybe 30. Check with your neuro.

I've been to 2 different neurologists and offered me parkinson meds but told me the side affects and suggested I wait till my tremors got really bad. There are also combinations of meds they offer that are not for ET but seem to help. I had a friend on them. Not ready for any of that yet. I knew a gentleman that had the voice tremors and did public speaking and he went for speech therapy and it helped him. So you might want to try that. Thanks for your reply and suggestions.

Don't know what an internal tremor is but I may have. I need to strong sleep medication to get a good nights sleep. With it I am great the next day without it I am rubbish. I believe there are different syndromes of Tremor and a lot of medical ignorance.
My mother had exact thing. She never abused her body in any wat but passed at 88 from cancer.

I've had essential tremor for years. Diagnosed with generalized myasthenia gravis (Mg) Oct. 2024. Take primidone but it only helps some. Take mestinon for MG and that has made twitching/shaking worse. God bless all of us warriors.

I'm sorry to hear about your MG with ET. I just found out Mayo had a device called Calla Trio. It looks like a watch you wear on your wrist for an hour that stops the hand tremors for about an hour. I would love to have that when I am going out to eat socially. I am going to look into it. Supposedly Medicare will pay for it with the advantage plan I have. i will post about it if I am approved to get it. Have a nice day.

Oh wow. Thanks. I'll try to find out something too. Let me know what you find out. I don't go to restaurants because it's embarrassing. Take care.

I'm going to be away for a week starting this Sat. but will check it out when I get home. If you find anything out let me know also. My health ins rep; said to call Mayo get the code they use for billing and then call my insurance to see if they cover it. He felt they should because my insurance, Aetna Medicare Advantage is connected with Mayo. If you find anything out please let me know also - thanks - Kathy
