I was on Xarelto for several years due to Afib. I had two heart ablations in 2021 and have had to issues since. My current heart Dr took me off and put me on an aspirin regiment. I dreaded paying the price for Xarelto when I got on Medicare. Glad to be on the aspirin

People's idea of eating normal varies, and I have no idea what a diet breakfast would be.
The average American diet contributes to needing meds in general. Too much meat, luncheon meats, cheese, ice cream, too many sweets, refined breads or even many foods containing wheat, processed cereals etc. Sodas, bottled juices. etc.

are you eating a diet and doing things that alleviate heart attacks or strokes?

I have been a patient of Mayo Clinic Jacksonville since 2006. I am under the care of the Director of Heart Failure, the Director of Electrophysiology, an outstanding primary care doctor, and have gone through nutritional counseling with a dietician.

I exercise every day for 1-2 hours and do Sprint Triathlons. None of these alleviate heart attacks or strokes but helps to prevent them.

Many medications require you to take on empty stomach, many require you take with food. Many states can take with food or no food. It is best to follow what the prescription says for taking with food or not.

Taking a 81 mg of aspirin is a preventive medication, and I take it daily. I was given the option of not taking or taking after consultations with my PCP and cardiologist that for me, and I emphasize for me, to keep taking it.

Hi @cominer1. These are symptoms you will want to discuss with your medical provider to have them advise you on best practices for if, when and how to use aspirin. Aspirin by it's nature is a blood thinner, which can result in increased bleeding risk which it sounds like you may be already experiencing.

As a gentle reminder, typing in ALL CAPS can sometimes be read or perceived as shouting on public forums and is best to avoid if possible. However, if it is necessary to do in order to be able to read there are circumstances where it is obviously allowed.
