Has anyone had an insertable Cardiac Monitor?

Does it show that you have a good signal? I assume that you have tried moving it to different locations to see if that helps -- closer to a window is usually better. How frustrating.

lasst august my wife had one implanted, seems to be doing a good job. the problem we are having now is we found the price the hospital is asking us to play seems rather exorbent, when the procedure could have well been done in a Doctorrs office and reading in the Star Tribune, the cost to hospitals seems to be a lot lower. The Hospital stand a surgery is a surgery is a surgery. A scapel , an implant under the skin, lanacaine, no hospital people in the room, no that is not a surgery.

Yes. The price was really high. I knew ahead of time that it would be about $20,000 but in 2016 I had a low deductible insurance and I only had to pay 10%. I felt that paying $2000 was a fairly low price for 24/7 continuous heart monitoring for three years. I was disappointed to learn though that it doesn't track or catch everything. I was told that it doesn't really track palpitations unless those fall within the parameters that are set. Soon I'm going in to have some of the parameters changed so that it will catch some of the episodes I've had. Mine was done in an Outpatient Surgery Clinic attached to a hospital. I had the full operating room experience though -- prepped, nurses attending, etc but then was a bit ridiculous because it was just the local anesthetic. The cardiologist came in, made the little 1/2 inch cut and inserted it -- took all of about one minute of his time. The bulk of the time spent then was gluing me back together. I hope you have good insurance.

we did not know, but am surprised at how high it was, and saw the itemized bill, it does not make any sense. Have you seen the article in the Star Tribune and what the cost of the material to the hospital is? I know they have to mark it up, let's say 100%, okay that is probably reasonable but operating room charges of just uner $6000? The only hospital people she saw was the registration person, the procedure was done in an office, I was there with her, her doctor and two Product reps were there to show the Doctor how to do the procedure. No one was wearing a mask? How the Insurance companies can allow this is beyond reality! Have you seen the article in the paper?

Just had my Medtronic monitor implanted in Pensacola, Fl at Baptist Hospital Cath lab last Thursday. No issues so far. I had afib in 2012, then atrial flutter and cardiac ablation in May 2013. No problems since then until recently when my resting heart rate has dropped to 37 bmp while sleeping. Also dizzy, fainting and falling spells. Have had some chest pain, hesitant to use patient transmitter. BHC is affiliated with Mayo Clinic, and my EP doctor is one of top EP doctors. He put a pacemaker in my wife in 2014, due to irregular heart beat. I was told cost would be about $ 30k, but i have medicare and Tricare for Life, so no copay! I also have hypertension, controlled by 3 different medications. May have to have pacemaker/defrib, if conditions warrant it.. Gee, the ICM is smaller than a small USB device!

Yes, Reveal Medtronic implanted last Thursday, 8 March, 2018. No problems. Very tiny device.

The Medtronic rep, a retired RN told me that the patient assistant would mark 20 minutes prior to the event and the event itself, although I can't not find this in my manual. Will check with maker to see if this is accurate.

the price of this procedure could be greatly reduced, having the procedure done in the Doctors office. The hospital my wife used just has a check off number that a surgery is a surgery is a surgery, their cost for the procedures just under $6000. , they provideed a receptionist who put a band on her wrist, an office, a scapel, linocaine, glue. They had none of their people in the room, those present My Wife and I, her doctor, two reps from Medtron, took around 20 minutes, how does that amount to that amount? This country is never going to see afordable health care, if this is the accepted norm.

Mine was done in Pensacola, Florida at Baptist Hospital on 8 March 2018. Cost is almost $ 30,000. But it was done in Heart Cath lab, which drives up the cost. Should be done in outpatient setting, which is what my cardiologist EP stated. Simple procedure, local anthestic, went home in less than one hour. No pain, dressing came off on 11th, and Sterri strips came off yesterday. Works great. Battery life is good for years. Made by Medtronic, called the Reveal. Do Google search. Love Slovenia
