Has anyone had an insertable Cardiac Monitor?

Posted by jigglejaws94 @jigglejaws94, Oct 12, 2016

Just curious if anyone else has a Reveal LINQ implant ?? I had one inserted in July of this year to monitor my palpitations. I have had palpitations for years but earlier this year they changed (at least for a while) and I experienced shortness of breath and pain with the palpitations.

I just think this is really cool technology.

Hello, I wanted to let you know I've had my reveal link for almost three years, there was only slight discomfort at first then over a few days time I forgot it was even in my body! Hope your procedure goes well! Take care!

Oh, I see -- I'm sorry that that is the case where you live. That is very unfortunate for you.

@jigglejaws94 I had never heard of this before, but I looked it up on "google" and it does sound like an interesting tool Please share, if you want to, how this works.

Thank you, jj, for your useful information. I wish my cardiologist would have explained me the use of my Patient Assistant in such a simple way. I felt like I was going to faint today, but I did not dare to use the Patient Assistant because I was afraid that I shall not know how to stop the screening. Now, I finally understand how the ICM works. Thanks a lot, once more.

Lucija --- be sure to contact your doctor and give them the approximate time (and if you aren't sure -- "in the morning", "while in bed", "just before lunch", etc) that you felt faint today. They can look back to the tracing for the entire day and check for any rhythm problems. I'm so glad that you understand now. I think at first, I was a little timid to use the Patient Assistant when I was having a questionable symptom. I would question myself and end up thinking -- "oh it wasn't really that significant". What? This thing in my chest cost $20,000 (I only paid a tenth of that but still) --- and so if I even slightly suspect that something just doesn't feel right -- I mark it. That's what it is for.

Curious if anyone who has this system is having problems with the automatic transmissions to cardiologist office. Had mine since 11/27/17 and it has not yet transmitted automatically to my cardiologist. I was alerted by my cardio that it had not transmitted at all the first month I had it. I sent a manual transmission and worked fine. Called the troubleshooting number and they were absolutely NO help. Two months now and it has still not transmitted automatically. Have been sending manual transmission every four or five day. Called troubleshooting again recently, talked to two different people, and still no help, just double talk. I do believe they get these young people on the phones off the street. Just hoping they don't get paid for their lack of services.

Hello, I too had trouble with transmitting with the first unit I had so I had to call the Reveal link people for a replacement . After that I had no problems transmitting manually. Maybe your unit was faulty too? Hope you get better service! keep trying!

I have no problem transmitting manually. The unit is supposed to transmit automatically, so you shouldn't have to manually transmit unless physician requests you to do so.
