Heart arrhythmia s and prozac

Have paroxysmal afib and r bundlebranchblock with wide qrs.Going to start prozac for my anxiety. And depression.Know this can cause prolonged QT.Should I worry?

Honestly, I would only worry if you get neglectful monitoring. Your physician must understand the risks, but would ensure you get frequent assessments of your R-to-R intervals and the duration of your QRS. However, and I'm sure you already realize this, your anxiety is getting in the way of calm and rest. Your system needs to detune a bit, and your Vagus nerve needs to regain some tone. Prozac is likely to help, even if it must be prescribed for a year or more, or just a few weeks. This is a 'stop gap' to get you over a hump.

Satisfy yourself that your concerns are going to be taken into account by the authority prescribing the Prozac. Or, ensure he/she is fully aware of the risks as you understand them. Maybe that person will fully explain the risk/benefit calculus for you.
