Atopic Dermatitis: Does Dupixent (dupilumab) help you?
Hi - Pam here from Phoenix. I just joined Connect again, now for AD. I am suffering with severe AD. Dr. wants me to go on the biologic Duplixent. Would love to meet anyone facing a similar problem. Pam

Is Duplixent helping at all? I am researching other MABs for AD and some similar drugs like Rinvoq from Abbie is a big factor. Pam
Good morning, Pam @burningfeetinphoenix. I see that you’re trying to get an appointment at Mayo. Try this link
https://MayoClinicConnect.in/1mtmR63
Some visits may be virtual, some in person. But, remember that Mayo can’t see everyone, but try anyway. Your doctor may be able to help with a referral.
Have you found any support groups in your area or on Fb?
I suffer from the Autoimmune disease of Bullous Pemphigoid. I am really tired of constantly being on prednisone. My Dr would like me to try DUPIXENT. I hate needles but I am ready to try. Any thoughts on how this works? Any information would be appreciated!
one person told me it greatly improved her life
@labcoris I have given you the link to Mayo Clinic’s information on atopic dermatitis. I plan to enter that link also.

Many doctors have decided to go with the new biologics, mine included. It sure beats taking prednisone forever. I’m tapering the prednisone now and should be off of it by January 1. The stories of prednisone long term problems can be quite true. I’ve really noticed muscle weakness so now I’m doing exercises to get my strength back. And, also the need to cover up in the sun in order to avoid skin cancer, which prednisone makes more possible.
Now, let’s let some of the members tell you their experiences!
Thank you @becsbuddy for gathering Connect members who are hoping to learn more about Dupixent. I have been using Dupixent injections every other week for three years. All I can tell you is that my quality of life depends on Dupixent. My dermatologist worked very hard to make sure that I would qualify for the self-injections to eradicate my miserable case of atopic dermatitis and internal neuropathic itch.
My body had such a negative reaction that I would just pass out. One day my life partner was using a solution to clean the kitchen cupboards. I responded to his request to take him something in the kitchen and the vapor knocked me out.
You can call and talk to their medical staff as well as the research experts. The product is already in a pen and the injections work best in your thigh.
May you find comfort and relief.
Chris

Read this and talk with your doctor. That is so important! A change in medicine can be life-changing!! What do you think could help you change your mind?
Thank you! I will check it out. I am just a chicken with needles!
I had been able to mostly control my AD by avoiding a truly astounding list of contact allergens. I had the 5-day patch testing done and I highly recommend it.
But I'm getting scalp, eyebrow, and lip symptoms, again. And winter will make everything worse.
I see my deem doc this month and was planning on asking about biologics.
Good luck to you. I hope you find something that works for you.
I'm on Ðupixent now for 7 months. Lucky so far no Bad reactions. Taking for lichen sclerosus. It's also helped my allergies, nasal and asthma.
