Constant coughing
Is there any way that works to tame the constant and sometimes violent coughing? I know we have to cough to get out whatever is coming up, but sometimes I just need a break. The cough is beginning to increase my anxiety and depression!

Checking in with you.
How is the ' "coughing up so much and spitting phlegm white sputum."
I am still doing that and it got worse in the last several months. With using a clear cup or sputum vile to 'spit' into....what I see most times is saliva, mucus, mucus plugs and white foamy...moisture. My visit with the pulmonologist this week resulted in being placed of the anti-biotics due to the sputum tests continuing to show the infection MAI. My understanding is that taking the anti biotics can also help with lessening the constant need to clear out the throat of the constant feeling of mucus being stuck in the throat.
You had a bronchoscope and indicated it is much better after the bronchoscope. Does that mean the pulmonologist cleaned out an infection???? What was the lab result? Did the gastroscope find out if the bile or bacteria is creating that phlegm??? Hope it still is 60% better.

Asked pulmonary about what to do about unexpected uncontrollable coughing. Suggested was to try huff coughs (in lieu) of coughing, or autogenic drainage or active cycle of breathing. The goal is to break the constant coughing cycle. These breathing technique help to break the cycle, likely by shifting mucus. So far it has worked for me.
