Any longhaulers noticing vision changes?
Has anyone noticed vision changes who are long haulers ? I have astigmatism and have worn contacts for probably 25 years, however I was just beginnig to need a weak OTC reading lense to read, I was 48 at the time I had covid. In OTC readers I wore a +1.50 my eye doctor had told me not to buy anything stronger than a +1.75 until I seen him again the following year. About 6 months after having covid in a period of about 2 months my reading vision began rapidly deteriorating. I had to buy a +2.75 ! I went to my eye doctor and began explaining to him what happened & the first thing he asked me was if I'd had covid & if I was sick longer than a couple of weeks (I will sick for 4 months). He said it had happened with other patients. He dialated my eyes & checked them out & said he couldn't see any damage to my eyes. However, now it seems as if my fat away vision isn't exactly as it should be. It's only been 4 months since I went to the eye doctor but I'm thinking I may have to go back before April of 2023 for my next visit.
Has anyone else had this happen to them & if so what were you told by your doctor? This is just one of the slew of problems I have from covid. Any information would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance and God bless us all and may we all get thru this together.

What changes to your vision are you experiencing?
I’ve had bad eyes since I was a child. I’m very nearsighted with the prescription of -4.50 in both eyes. I could always see woke up close. But it was like one day I woke up and I couldn’t read nothing in front of me. When I went to the eye doctor, he did not even dilate my eyes not knowing me because I am new to the state, he gave me a regular eye exam. I told him I had Covid and some vision issues. He said he was just gonna start me on a simple multifocal eyeglass because it was my age and that way I can get used to it. I can’t remember how many months ago that’s been maybe six, but they have definitely gotten worse close . I’ve also had problems when I was driving where it seemed like lines were merging a few times and that night I can’t drive at all specially, if it’s a very dark area, I can’t see anything. I missed a curb and total on my car only going about 35 the officer said . So not only am I having health and vision problems there’s always stuff that follows because of it. Whatever field it is you had the doctors that care about Covid and figuring it out I’ve also had doctors at turn me away after looking at my list of symptoms from the doctor that referred me Saying it was too much but yet specialist. Hopefully everybody on here dealing with different symptoms or even the same eventually can help each other with all the different doctors around the different states.
Same here my Dr just says yes it could be long covid but I'm having several other problems as well neurological and fatigue 😩
Hi @armalone. I am so sorry you are facing those challenges and hoping as more doctors in your current area experience this themselves and thru actual first hand covid patients to see that these things are real. Taking each symptom Im sure you are doing so the eyes could also be the battery analogy where reading too much or having to focus etc uses up your eye muscle energy as well as possibly affecting other body areas as so many of us experience. I know it is so frustrating and realistic minimal exertion pacing does seem to help when done to prevent any reactions and allow the body to heal as fast as possible for the end goal! Healing to you🌈
This is weird. I have macular degeneration. I am legally blind. I have had my eyes blur on and off. I had my vision checked and it is stable.
Right now I am blurry but when I clean my contacts, all clear until 30 minutes past. I agree, energy may be factor.
It has drastically effected my vision.
Since having Covid, i developed uveitis which has recurred several times. The last time being this summer. I am due for a follow up with the retina specialist this month. I am now having problems with blurred vison, watery eyes and so,etimes feeling like there is a film on my eyes. I am going to tell him about these issues amd see what he says.
That sounds a lot like what I have going on yet nothing showed up on my tests. So frustrating.
I didn’t connect the two until issues with other things started happening.
