Caretaker's Humor
Our caretaker journey is grim much of the time; however, sometimes an incident will tickle you. I got my credit card bill that showed a charge at a pet store. I don't have a pet. Surely it was fraudulent, so I called the credit card fraud department. I would have had to cancel and get a new card that would have been very time consuming, so I opted to pay the $8.97 charge instead although I wasn't a happy camper. I checked with my daughter, and she remembered purchasing puppy pads for her dad's incontinent accidents. Mystery solved.

@gloro, I'm glad you were authorized healthcare. It takes a while to adapt to the presence of a stranger, who becomes a familiar face, in one's home. For my parents it was a game changer to have someone come every morning to help my father wash and dress, as a first help. Then I found out they could have help to prepare meals, iron, and run errands; so, I encouraged my mother to take advantage of that. It was difficult at first for her to adjust to their presence and to organize herself to tell them what she needed them to do. She complained to me about it. But for all her complains, she hasn't given up the service. I hope it will be easier for you to adjust to this new presence in your home and that it will take a big weight off you chest.
