How do you deal with dry eyes?

I have dry eyes due to sjogren's syndrome. Does anyone else deal with dry eyes?

I am pretty sure I do as well. With a blood test I am negative but I have all the symptoms. Still working on a diagnosis. I am using a cool air humidifier by my bed at night that works great. I also used the refresh eye drops that are more like a gel. Make sure you use just a tiny drop in the inside corner of your eye. If you use too much it makes dry crusty pieces along your lashes and that makes it worse. Each morning I gently splash cool water on my eyes and rinse them so if there is any residue from the night before it rinses off. On occassion I will use the optase eye lid cleansing wipes. Just kind of play around with it. When mine get really bad I will stop using mascara for a few days and use either the eye pads that you can warm in the microwave and put those on my eyes every night for about 30 minutes. That really does help. Also you can buy a similar eye pad device on sharper image that plugs in and that one works great when traveling.
If I get really bad I will use the sustained eye ointment at night for a few nights. It’s like instant relief. My next thing is I am going to try the eye drops that they make from your blood. They call them serum eye drops. My doctor says they really help some people. I also take higher doses of omega 3 fish oil. I believe it’s called 3 6 9 omega fish oil. I had a nurse tell me that her doctor recommends that and patients find relief.
It’s a lot but it really does help.
Best of luck to you

Yes, I have been dealing with dry eyes for 40 years! I use Allergan's Refresh Celluvisc preservative free eye drops (artificial tears) many times during the day and night time ointment at night. Years ago, I tried Restasis which I discontinued because of severe stinging and burning. Just had an appointment with my over 80 now retiring ophthalmologist who recommended trying Xiidra (lifitegrast ophthalmic solution) which recently became available in Canada. Was just about to start a discussion group to get feedback on Xiidra.

Me too. I just got a prescription from my ophthalmologist last week for Miebo drops. I guess they are trying to get approval from my insurance company. I hope I can tolerate them.

I use Refresh Optive Mega 3 lubricant eye drops, Cequa prescription and Miebo. Also need an ointment for overweight and warm compressions along with an eye scrub
