Nope—have not heard about cell therapy for COPD and have attended the American Thoracic Conference in San Diego in May 2024. If it was a mainstream treatment, I’m positive it would have been presented at peer-reviewed sessions.
Stem Cell therapy by the Lung Health Institute and similar are scams requiring you to pay large sums so they can experiment on you. It is NOT APPROVED in the US and any “trial” requiring participants to pay is not a legit US trial.
I had a discussion with my pharmacist today about his to get my dupixent. He suggested that since his pharmacy doesn’t have backup generator to keep medications cold in power outages AND we’ve been having several recently, he would recommend that I go to specialty pharmacy to pick up my medication.
He said he’d be 2nd choice and having it delivered to my home is last choice since he’s heard of many mid deliveries.
It’s a good thing I live only 1/2 hour from the specialty pharmacy and would only need to pick up once/month.
I have had my Dupixent delivered to the house packaged in three medical grade ice bags and many, many tests and e-mails announcing the delivery date ....by CVS Specialty. The contact me by email for reorder and I set the date. Never had an issue.....but if you live that close to a Specialty Pharmacy all the better.
It is not a pill. It is an injection every two weeks. It cleared the 3rd trial in May of this year with good results. Google Dupixent & COPD and read all about it. My husband has been on it since about 2018 for eczema and it has worked wonders. It is also used to treat asthma. I hope it will get final approval soon for COPD. Biologics are a new class of drugs now and seems to be working well. Husband has no side effects from it and if there are any, they seem to be minimal. I hope they can be used soon for my COPD.
I'm not familiar with cell therapy treatment for COPD!

Hello it has already been approved September 2024. It is working great for me. I am breathing much better since I started it a month ago.
Stem cell therapy has NOT been approved for COPD.
