@sharon1944 keto would never work for me because I do love carbs more than protein. So I stick with just intermittent fasting which is so much easier. I eat and drink whatever I want from around noon or 1:00 p.m. and have my supper between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Sometimes I might eat a snack around 9:00 p.m., but most nights I stop eating around 8:00 p.m.
I had lost some weight previously on Weight Watchers about fifteen years ago, but got tired of counting carbs, calories, fats, etc. so sort of fell into intermittent fasting (didn’t even know what it was at the time! lol). Well, I haven’t lost any more weight, but for me it has become a maintenance routine (I don’t think of it as “dieting”).
As long as I can fit into the size I came down to on Weight Watchers around 15 years ago (from a size 14/16 to a size 10), I don’t worry about what I am eating and that’s where the intermittent fasting works for me. If my clothes start getting a bit snug I just tweak my food intake between 1:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. On weekends I don’t follow a strict 1:00 to 9:00 schedule because I often get up early for Church on Sundays so I eat earlier, but I still keep 9:00 p.m. my cut off point for eating and drinking.
Welcome @sharon1944, I found a Keto diet to be a little to difficult also. What worked for me was intermittent fasting along with lowering my carb intake which was easier and helped me lose a lot of weight. You might want to check out Low-carb healthy fat living. Another thing that helped me keep track of the fasting hours was an app on my iPhone. It's available for android phones as well - https://zerolongevity.com/. I use the free version.
Is it the Keto diet part or the intermittent fasting that makes it difficult for you?
