Nasal mask problems

Posted by annienelson @annienelson, Sep 18 4:36am

I am trying a nasal mask instead of a full mask which was quite uncomfortable as I needed it very tight.
With the nasal mask which I have now tried for three nights I am keeping my tongue up high on the roof of my mouth and my mouth closed as I was told to do. What is happening is that after a while my cheeks start to balloon out and air is forced out through my mouth. Has anyone experienced this. Thanks

Yes, it's very common. As odd as it may sound, wearing your apparatus during the day and letting your cheeks bulge will serve as 'practice' and might help to reduce the weird sensation over time. In turn, you will not feel it so bothersome at night.
