Orgovyx extreme fatigue side effects

Posted by mikejf @mikejf, Apr 22 9:51am

I have been using Orgovyx several years for prostate cancer and am now have in extreme fatigue side effects during the afternoon. I take Orgovyx late morning every day and side effects kick in around 3p.m. I was wondering if I switched to taking Orgovyx at night in stead if side effects during day would be reduced

Yup, I have definitely noticed that my sleep pattern has changed. It’s like I’m just lying in bed with these long periods of getting close to nodding off but just not OUT.
Throw in the peeing and the cats doing Irish step dancing on my bladder, I might as well get up and start the coffee!

Animals are a good source of exercise too, keeps ya busy feeding and cleaning the litter box

Is there anyone in this Prostate Cancer forum that is certain that taking Orgovyx and/or Zytiga has caused muscle stiffness?? I've been taking both drugs since January, 2024, and I now notice that my knees are very stiff which wasn't the case just two months ago. Just curious... I've been getting a lot of leg cramps I attribute to Orgovyx but not general stiffness.

I’m 70 with stage 2 and will start radiation in a few weeks. I’ve been on Orgovyx for 2 months. I took it around 8 am the first month and experienced the same fatigue but switched to taking it around 7 pm which seems to have helped my days feel better. No sleep problems noticed so far other than the usual trips to the bathroom.
Getting daily varied exercise even when you don’t feel up to it also helps. I’m very fortunate to have a beautiful new YMCA. gym and indoor lap pool 5 minutes from my home. I always say that the hardest part of my old man workout is talking myself into driving there and always feel better afterwards.

Funny you mention leg cramps. I too was getting leg cramps and I had a theory that the hot flashes/sweating was depleting my electrolytes and causing dehydration. Dehydration can cause leg cramps. So, I have been drinking fluids like Gatorade and the leg cramps have diminished significantly. This doesn't validate my theory, but, it seems to make sense.

@markslice7, you mention muscle stiffness. I found a couple of related discussions that may help:
- Severe stiffness in fingers after starting Eligard.

- Orgovyx and Zytiga combined

Can you describe the muscle stiffness? Is it painful, weak, or just hard to get moving? Is the stiffness in a particular muscle group like legs or fingers? Has it gotten better since you first posted?
