What brought you joy today?
If you've been living with cancer for a while, you know it's not all gloom and doom. Where did you find joy today? I'll start:
1. Working in my garden.
2. Meeting my daughter for tea.
3. Home-made pizza for dinner.
4. My spouse (always).
5. Some interesting online discussions.
6. Rereading a good novel.

Giving love to others (humans or animals) is a great way to find joy for yourself!
Flying in my friend's plane to celebrate my upcoming 3rd cancer anniversary (still going strong).
First cup of tea and toast in the morning
Amen!
Once I could move from bed to wheelchair in the hospital, the first thing I did was start making my own good, loose-leaf tea and toast every morning in the patient lounge.
I had barely been eating for the first couple of months post-surgery and had lost 40 lb — (good, loose-leaf) tea and toast were my first steps back to health, and are still my joyful start to every morning.
Listening mostly. I do play the piano occasionally, which also makes me feel better.
A mindfulness session
I actually can't put it in words,, that proverbial bus ran me over yesterday, and today, it has been a really good day. I try not to over think it, just take the good feeling and run with it. Best to all.
I thank the Divine for my life as it us TODAY. Amen.
Eight squirrels came to my patio at once for walnuts this morning. They look for me through my windows and sometimes chatter to call me out. It was a squirrel party! So cute! Stayed about an hour. Just like Arnold, they’ll be back! They melt my heart! Sometimes when I’m standing outside not paying attention, one will tug on my pant leg to get my attention. When I come home and walk toward my condo they run up to me like little dogs. My dogs are all gone now so this is my only animal love unless a patient dog walker lets me love on their dog for a minute. I’m surrounded by huge pine trees so the squirrels all live in those. They also rattle my front door screen to get me to open the door. Luckily they haven’t figured out how to ring the doorbell — yet. LOL
A couple “pet” crows follow me for a mile on my walks. The mail carrier was shocked one day when she saw me throughout the neighborhood with a couple crows flying from building to building anticipating my route. Little juncos come in my patio and also land right in front of me on my walks to ask for walnut crumbs. Bunnies hang out but they just eat grass. Ducks and egrets occasionally hang out in the garden. Skunks are outside late at night. They are mellow just digging for grub. Never did they spray my dogs. Stomped their feet on occasion to say, back up. It’s all a very Snow White experience around here that makes my day. Nature is so beautiful and peaceful. 🥰
You certainly are very connected to nature and all the little critters within. How can that not bring you joy? The opposite of that would be someone totally oblivious to the nature that surrounds us and is available to anyone who opens their eyes and ears. Gods glory surrounds us everywhere, but the modern technological world can drown everything out and we shouldn’t let that happen.
