age 69, mild/moderate COPD Mullein tea or tincture to help clear lungs

Background-RLower lobectomy 8 months ago Stage 1A NCLC w/mild to moderate COPD/Emphazima (not being treated for). I guess I'm still having post surgery effects from lobectomy as far as right rib discomfort, chest tightness, but experiencing some shortness of breath depending on what I'm doing, so I guess I attribute that to the surgery, but also the COPD. I was a smoker for decades, & I still smoke 4-6 a day after no success with patches. Has anyone used Mullein to loosen mucus & to clear lungs, help with breathing etc? You can use it as a tea or a tincture. I want to try it, but am wondering for COPD, have you tried it? I want it to be safe, but effective

Yes I have and still do use Mullen occasionally. It’s quite effective as an expectorant.

#1 recommendation Stop the 4-6 cigarettes per day. Have you tried the nicorette gum as a cessation aid?
Have not heard of Mullein tea for loosening secretions but don't think it would be harmful. Additionally, increasing fluid intake helps as well

I drink Mullein tea and use the drops. Can’t say it has any effect. Mullein was used to treat Tuberculosis before antibiotics years ago

I am very interested in natural therapeutics and remedies, actually anything natural that might benefit my health & wellness AND do no harm. I had never heard of mullein tea, so I looked it up on healthline.com - a website I often find helpful and balanced. Here is their link for mullein tea:

I've tried the tea, drops,and capsules together over 6 months and did not notice even the slightest difference. Mullein is a well researched
product that indeed makes claims of clearing phlegm. Works for some but unfortunately not for all

I am just learning about Mullein. My neighbor, a lung cancer survivor had covid and Richard's health foods store told her that Mullein had helped some recover from covid. She used it (tincture, twice a day in small amount of water) and told me that since she recovered several weeks ago, she has not had to use her albuterol inhaler at all. I'm going to continue research and just saw that the NIH has something about it. I'd say - research is important, and I, too, was hoping that some folks would talk about any experience with Mullein.
