Wait time pre-transplant?
Once a person is referred to Mayo by their doctor for a transplant & that person speaks with Mayo on the phone… How long is the estimated wait time for the next step? We’ve been waiting almost 3 weeks since initially speaking to them. I thought they got back to you pretty fast.

Actually I have received 2 different calls from Mayo scheduling that did not show Mayo Clinic on caller ID, I am in AZ and they are growing so fast they might not have been able to designate the correct caller ID - it is a good thing to know and as you suggested, unblock calls for a while.
@margui70 Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect!
What solid organ is your husband waiting for, for transplant? Which Mayo Clinic campus will that be at?
Waiting for anything significant can really be stressful. And you never know, the wait time may be shorter than you think! Be prepared with a list of things to pack, people to notify. I'd suggest to do that now while you are not "under the gun" to get to the transplant center!

Thank you for your message. My husband needs a liver transplant; he has NASH cirrhosis and was diagnosed in April with HCC. We went for his evaluation to the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL
Ginger: Thanks a lot for your wise advice; it’s really stressful. I have a lot to read and process; I’m so thankful with God to for giving us the opportunity to go to the Mayo Clinic. I’m a breast cancer survivor and my beloved husband was my angel and caregiver during that difficult time. I pray for wisdom, patience and knowledge to be there for him. Many blessings to you and your loved ones !
When did you have your liver transplant, and what could you advise. This situation is very stressful and I need to support my husband and encourage him. I really wish you the best and appreciate your reply; blessings !
I had mine in 2016 at I.U UNIVERSITY here in Indy. They are top 5 in the Nation doing Transplants. I was in "End Stage Liver Failure " . I got Hep C from an Tattoo that obviously wasn't properly done. I was only 41 years old when I got sick. I have to be honest and tell you it was the hardest , most incredibly painful experience I believe anyone could go through. It took every ounce of strength and the will to live I had. But if I can do it ANYONE CAN. All things are possible.. If you want to reach out to me and let me know what point he is at right now. I would love to help in anyway I can. I don't currently have a phone number but I am on Facebook my name is Corey Michael Yeknich. ✝️💜
