HIGH ntBNP
I went to my GP for a broken toe and asked him to do some heart bloodwork because I have been feeling extra tired lately. My ntBNP was high at 309. Does anyone know anything about this? Should I be alarmed? I have already emailed him on the portal but am anxious. Thanks for any insights.

ntBNP is a measure of congestive heart failure, it's measured every time I have bloodwork. Mine number is VERY high, 519. Suggestion: read about it on the Mayo Clinic Website and follow up soon on what to do about it. I am not a medical person, but know that you will have peace of mind and be in good hands under the care of a cardiologist who will come up with a plan of action designed just for you! BTW, I had a septal myectomy 2 years ago, I do have a pacemaker/defibrillator and lead a normal active life. Best wishes!
