New Predictive Blood Test: ctDNA
From http://www.theguardian.com. A new ctDNA blood test identifies returning circulating tumor cells before a scan can find cancer recurrence. The old ctDNA used a technique called whole exome sequencing that typically looks for between 16 and 50 mutations. The new test uses whole genome sequencing and searches for 1,800 mutations making it more sensitive. June 2, 2024. This sounds like a real advancement! I wonder when it will be implemented in our treatment.

It was a very long process which it took the entire month of June. Everyday wound care at the hospital with Sunday phone calls on the on call Radiation oncologist.
I did Adriamycin, cytoxan and Taxol. Did you have residual disease and is that why you did Gemzar and Carboplatin? After my mastectomy the pathology report came back all clear, and so my oncologist said radiation wasn’t needed. Did you have a mastectomy or lumpectomy?
No I didn’t have residual disease and I was NED all 3 times. Lumpectomy the 1st time. For the 2nd, I had a dissection of my right auxiliary lymph nodes and this past time, I had a revision of my dissection of my right auxiliary lymph nodes.
What sort of side effects did you have from proton therapy?
I recently had proton therapy and I have soreness. I had some skin problems but they subsided. I am disappointed about your Signatera results. I have draws every 6 weeks. I am triple positive. I am very afraid of a recurrence.
I have done a lot of researching this new test but not having any luck finding the company that is doing this ctDNA test. Called Signatera and it’s not them. Anymore info on this?
The company is Natera
They own Signatera and I spoke with them yesterday and they don’t have the new test..,
Is this like Signatura where they take blood every three months and see if they find any DNA circulating tumors or is this something else? I am doing the Signatara. I had triple positive with the chek 2 gene
Is it the guardian? That is the only other one I know of
Is it NeXT? Was used in a trial. Not sure available generally. I tried to find it.
