Bronchiectasis and diet
I’ve heard and read conflicting views and recommendations regarding the best diet for those of us with Bronchiectasis, esp. regarding dairy products and whether they contribute to mucus production. What have you found out regarding diet and foods that trigger problems?

I made my first picked cucumber yesterday. I used non iodized salt, distilled water ( boil tap water for 20 mins) and 3% of the salt ( water plus vegetables). I will see how it works!!! 🙂 Make sure not to use vinegar because it will kill the probiotics. 🙂
Hmm...my Grandma always made brine (aka crock) pickles and there was quite a bit more to doing it. We're you following a Dept of Agriculture or University Extension Service recipe? We love to do our own preserving but don't want to risk any illness, so as much as I love Grandma's recipes, I compre them to the lab tested version. I even have one of my Grandma's old Ag Service canning pamphlets from the 1930's. Turns out the methods and cautions are still similar
Dear Sue, you are right, it is dangerous to eat poisoned food. It is my first time to try and I hope it is successful. If not, I will just take probiotics. lol
Did you follow a recipe? I remember putting a plastic bag sealed with brine on top of the pickles then a heavy stoneware plate to keep everything submerged, then the cover on the crock. That excludes all air during fermentation.
Yes I do Sue. 🙂 I cross checked several recipes. Plastic bags or plate both works the best. I choose to put a plastic wrap to make a sealed room so all vegetables are submerged. I also cut the top/bottom of the cucumber so the enzyme will not be there. Here is an interesting video to refer to. Will you try or you are an expert already?
Here is another recipe 🙂
How did you know that area of inflammation were reduced?
The sides of my neck, right under my jaw bone, were enlarged and what I would describe as protruding. No doctor thought much of it, however, I knew that was not normal for me. After months of taking tumeric and fennel supplements and being careful with what I ate....per the inflammation diet...the areas of my neck have gone back to normal.
This is how we did it. Now I have a family who prefers a salad of sliced cucumbers and onions in vinegar and traditional garlic dill pickles, so those are what I make. If there aren't enough cucumbers in my garden, I buy a bushel at the farmers' market.
Dear Sue, I heard picked veggi with vinegar will kill probiotics. So probably salted pickle is more healthy. 🙂 😄 I believe what you make is super delicious 😋
