Has anyone tried Umary Hialuronica Acidio from Mexico? WARNING
I bought a bottle of this UMARY Hialuronica Acidio from Amazon - I wanted something to help with my morning stiffness from PMR. I tried one pill mid- afternoon and the next morning I felt like new! No pain - no stiffness. BUT - after reading some negative reviews on Amazon I became aware of some possible issues, that because it works so well there must be an unlisted ingredient(s) - perhaps a NSAID OR A STEROID? One person mentioned after a couple months of using it started to mess up his liver enzymes. Since I am on 10mg of prednisone I decided to only take this supplement once every 4 days until I see my rheumatologist in April - I did not see any warning from the FDA for Umary - there are many more positive reviews than negative reviews on Amazon- I wish I could get it analyzed to be sure it’s safe but I don’t know where such can be done.

"The Food and Drug Administration is advising consumers not to purchase or use Umary, a product promoted and sold for pain on various websites, including https://www.solovital.com and possibly in some retail stores.
FDA laboratory analysis confirmed that Umary contains diclofenac and omeprazole, which are not listed on the product label."

Dosages from illegal Mexican drug products won't necessarily be the same each batch and the other ingredients could change all the time. There is no quality control in unregulated drug sales. I can't see a responsible medical professional overseeing the taking of over 3 times the amount of the maximum US prescription dose of diclofenac (as reported to be contained in Umary), or any product that has no safety or hygiene requirement in its preparation, or which has knowingly falsified what is in it. Care for the person who takes their drugs, zero. Profit motive, 100%.
Anyone found a substitute for Umary that doesn't have negtive side affects? I stopped taking it when I saw Canada had said to stop. Now I have pain all the time.

1 ReactionUmary is supposed to be Hyaluronic Acid - @megz mentioned that it is an "illegal Mexican drug" - what is illegal about it is their choice to omit the other ingredients from the label. Even in Mexico, the government requires a full disclosure label, so these folks are breaking laws all the way around the block.
Have you tried pure a Hyaluronic Acid supplement manufactured by an inspected US or Canadian regulator?

3 ReactionsI have found that I can take 1/4 of a pill and it helps the pain. I do this for 3-4 days and I am good for a while. Better than taking 1 pill every day. The illegal ingredients are prescribed by doctors for pain and inflammation. My physical therapist for vestibular problems told me to start taking it as a chiropractor told him to do. He also has a sister n law that works for a judge and they sent it off to lab and there was nothing in it that a doctor would not give for pain. Try taking less of it and only when you think you may really need it. Diclofenac and Dexamethasone and another pill for reflux . Look those up. Hope this helps.

1 Reaction#1 I am not a guy. I am retired 74 years of age and live in Gulf Coast Alabama. Have nothing to do with UMARY ! I am really funny about med's I take and have always been. What I am telling you is what worked for me. And yes it was tested by a good friend of mine and these are the two drugs not listed on the bottle that I mentioned above. Hey you can believe whatever you wish. This is,what as I said earlier,what works for ME!

As someone who occassionally uses meds from Mexico, I look for original sealed packagong,
major US or international pharmaceutical brands and certification labels that indicate US, Canadian, Mexican or EU inspection. I am not at my desk so can't give you the list.
We stay away from the cheap stuff and have not had a problem. That often means the meds are close to the cost of my insurance copay

Anyone who takes something (diclofenac) that contains 3 times the maximum dose allowed to be prescribed in the US, and which also contains high amounts of a proton pump inhibitor (omeprazole) which is not to be taken more than 2 weeks without doctor's supervision.... and they continue to confidently take it after finding out the seller deliberately failed to say those drugs were in what they were selling, and after an FDA warning not to take it - when none of that matters because their ear therapist's sister-in-law who knows a judge said it could be okay, there's nothing more any of us can say to help. For my own sanity and to reduce stress levels, I'll have to stay off this thread from now on.
