Has anyone tried Umary Hialuronica Acidio from Mexico?

Posted by jixster @jixster, Feb 20 12:16pm

I bought a bottle of this UMARY Hialuronica Acidio from Amazon - I wanted something to help with my morning stiffness from PMR. I tried one pill mid- afternoon and the next morning I felt like new! No pain - no stiffness. BUT - after reading some negative reviews on Amazon I became aware of some possible issues, that because it works so well there must be an unlisted ingredient(s) - perhaps a NSAID OR A STEROID? One person mentioned after a couple months of using it started to mess up his liver enzymes. Since I am on 10mg of prednisone I decided to only take this supplement once every 4 days until I see my rheumatologist in April - I did not see any warning from the FDA for Umary - there are many more positive reviews than negative reviews on Amazon- I wish I could get it analyzed to be sure it’s safe but I don’t know where such can be done.

I have a number of friends who swear by Umary and I would like to try it. I am wondering the difference between Umary USA and Umary from Mexico. In reading the labels it appears that the one from Mexico has additional, and somewhat scary, ingredients.

I had a friend introduced this to me and 100% it does work. I have read the reports about the risks but there's risk with everything and honestly this is better than any painkiller that the doctors have recommended for my
Osteoarthritis in both my knees. It's very difficult to give up something that 100% works when you're in pain and can't walk. I take it with caution I make sure that I am very careful with my diet and take it on the days that I absolutely need to.

I agree with you…. I didn’t gain weight. This really works for pain and movement in my knees. Would just like to know what if any side effects are? How long should I take it? I really don’t understand how I can purchase something off amazon that works better than anything the doctors recommend. But yet the medical industry or the doctors can’t give us anything that works???

I think it's important to fill you in on one of the latest side effects of taking UMary. My wife took this for three months and I did also (I had no severe joint problems myself). After suspending our use of UMary, we both suffered side effects.
My wife developed low blood pressure with dizziness and weakness. She also had swelling in her legs and ankles and developed some subdural blood leakage in her legs.
In my case, just yesterday, my pulse rate went up to 174 from my normal reading of 62. Our MD prescribed Metoprolol/100mg and it took my BP down to 54 (a bit low). I believe that UMary may be the culprit in this scenario.
I cannot recommend taking UMary until we find out what it contains. Armed with this information, you can at least work with your medical specialist to mitigate the potential risks associated with this drug. If you have liver, kidney, or thyroid problems, taking UMary could cause great harm.

Health Canada just issued an advisory on Umary. It contains Omeprazole and Diclofenac. Too bad it is no magic pill after all.

Omeprazole seems to be counter-indicated for the claims and use of Umary. Does anyone have any other source that indicates that this is an ingredient in UMary?

Diclofenac may cause stomach ulcers and bleeding. Omeprazole is often prescribed together with diclofenac to reduce its side affects.

You might as well ask your doctor to prescribe diclofenac and omeprazole. Better get your drug made by an actual pharmaceutical company, not from someone's backyard.

As a consumer who purchased UMARY from Amazon and went to great lengths to discover if this was safe and or had unlisted ingredients I was relieved to receive this note from Amazon that settles the question for me personally.

Walmart withdrew it from sale some time ago. It looks like Health Canada has been contacting various sellers to warn them the product is not what it claims to be. Anyone who continues to sell it after notification is breaking the law.

Interesting that the the broken English statement on the Umary bottle attempts to blame the purchaser or anyone who recommends it for any harm their product may cause them.

I have taken Umary exactly 4 times, weeks apart. The last I used it was for Mother’s Day weekend because my daughter was coming home and I wanted to keep up with her. I will never take it again, based on that last time. We were thrift shopping, and I suddenly felt very odd. My jawline started to hurt, and then I got chest pains. I sat on a nearby chair and tried not to panic. I’m sure it was the Umary. I told my daughter I wasn’t feeling well and we went home. It took about an hour to pass.

I too had the same good, great experience after just one pill!!
This stuff is great but I would bet it is dangerous.
Only info I can find is that a test in Canada indicated it had diclofenac and possibly a steroid in it?

I sure wish Mayo would analyze this supplement.
Maybe there is a way to take it safely?
If i can’t get better soon I will start taking it every two days!!!
I am eighty years old and am tired of constant pain so at least my time remaining will be without pain!!

I only take 1/2 dose but it is dangerous. I have had severe sciatica for 3 weeks (not my first rodeo)...all I was offered were opioids. Took this stuff and I can do cartwheels...buyer beware, its a quality of life choice for me. walk or be crippled. They wont allow me to post links but just google umary reviews canada

I've been dealing with this for so long with very little (doc) help. A friend told me about Umary and I agree it makes me feel wonderful. I've read about all the issues but take it only when I must, and with food. I agree, quality of life.
