Unexplained body Odor
Hello everyone!
I really need help figuring out what’s going on with me. I have impeccable hygiene! But, I smell horrible at all times! Most common odor is of sweaty socks. What’s weird is that my feet don’t smell at all. I can smell the odor around my nose. The crease of my nose to be exact.
The odor would get worse depending on my diet. But, it doesn’t matter what I eat, I smell. The odor is very strong. I don’t consume dairy because the odor would get worse, and I get a fecal/poop/sewage odor.
I’m not sure if these odors are coming from my stomach. I had endoscopy done, perfect oral health, tonsils removed, tmau test was negative. I was positive for Sibo only. No matter what I do, I smell bad, musty. I take 2 showers a day, scrub, use antibacterial soaps etc, nothing helps.
I know is coming from inside of me. I constantly smell like cheese. I don’t have any parasites, fungus or anything else that could be possibly be causing this. I can’t take the embarrassment anymore. People don’t understand that is a health condition, not that I’m a dirty person. My hormones are fine, within range. I have notice that close to my ovulation the odor would decrease somewhat, and very rarely I get one good day where people don’t complaint about the smell. I have narrow it down to be close to my ovulation day. I really don’t know what else to do. I have visited, endocrinologist, ENTs, Gastros, functional doctors, dentists, Obgyns.

Have you had your liver checked? I heard about a young man in the U.K. who had a body odor problem caused by problems with his liver. (His odor was that of fresh, hot urine but maybe they're related to yours?) Anyway good luck; hope for the best for you.
He/She mentions that the smell is like shit, not urine smell, and if he/she has done all the tests and they are negative, it means that the problem is functional, do an electromyography of the pelvic floor, your muscles are failing.

My spouse had an odor and it is believed due to cirrhosis of liver. His doctor, teaching another, pointed this out during exam.
I’m struggling too. Did you get tested for anything with the endoscopy? I think it’s SIBO/leaky gut. It definitely gets worse during menstruation. I am willing to do anything to get rid of this.
I know this is an old post and hopefully you’ve found some help, but in case you’re still looking for answers, I noticed you mentioned SIBO but didn’t mention any follow-up for it. I don’t know if SIBO can cause odors to exude other than as flatulence, but do you know what bugs you have proliferating in your small intestines that led to the diagnosis? I have SIBO, I don’t have the odor problem you have, but I have found the most help from a registered dietitian/nutritionist I’ve been working with. The traditional, allopathic medicine practiced by most MDs around where I live has not been helpful. They perform procedures and run tests, but the help I get managing the results comes from my nutritionist. It’s another avenue for you to consider if you’re still looking for help and haven’t already consulted one. I’d say find one that is a GI or SIBO specialist, that will give you the most targeted help. Best wishes.
Hi. Have you found a cure yet?
I know this is not a permanent solution but a whole body deodorant call Lume for women and for men it's called Mando. Plus you can add scented crystal beads to your wash for cloths and a scented dryer sheets. I know this does not solve you problem directly but may help between showers daily. I not much for lady or men's colognes or perfumes, but a lightly scented one can be dabbed onto your body and cloths.
Body odor wasn't my issue, but it may surprise you that we are all harboring yeast which give off their waste. A cause for many health issues is the yeast living in our intestines. I developed multiple forms of eczema in middle age, yeast was never diagonosed by my oncologist or other doctors. Still I was suffering so I kept reading about ways to improve my health. I wanted a cure and not a treatment.
I came upon the book, The Yeast Connection Handbook by William Crook, Md. He wrote this book decades ago. It's a simple, fast read for the layperson in which he explains what this yeast waste is doing to our bodies and is causing various health issues and diseases.
Your body is clearly out of balance, the book can be bought second hand and is inexpensive on the internet.
Following his detox is challenging, but I did it and today 5 years later still avoid his #1 culprit, processed sugar. It's all explained in his book.
Have you had your cortisol levels and liver enzymes checked? It could be a combo of adrenal fatigue, the SIBO. You can take natural supplements for your liver to help detox. Maybe try sitting in a sauna to try to detoxify?
