Dry mouth: Any ideas on how to help?
I have had coated tongue and dry mouth for 3. 5 months. Now mainly dry mouth. Have ruled out gastro , ear nose and throat and blood work and urine samples pretty normal as was ultrasound. Trying dry mouth mouthwash tooth paste and lozenges. Very temporary relief. Never had this problem before. Had bypass 9 years ago and am on beta blocker and atacand and Crestor . Maybe drug related but same drugs for 9 years did not cause it. Anyone have any ideas.

Many oral supplements have Sodium Laurel Sulfite which is the foaming/sudsing ingredient. This causes excessive drying. I brush with baking soda and quit all floride due to my Hashimoto's and Sjogren's. A friend suggested marshamallow tea.
I use Xylimelts at night.
Biotene toothpaste is good for this,
This gum works but it is expensive. ACT Dry Mouth Moisturizing Gum at Walmart has the same ingredients at a fraction of the cost. Just a suggestion.

I had dry mouth from oxybutynin for overactive bladder. It was only a couple weeks but I developed burning mouth and tongue from it. Quit it and took awhile to get over the burning although tip of tongue still burns a little.
